We live in the desert, but it is one that has been reshaped as a farming community. A great way to explore and get a sense of what happens here is to hop on a bike and pedal around some of the many canals.

We poked around Ferry Beach State Park today. It’s just a hop and a skip from Old Orchard Beach in Maine. The park is small, but it’s an easy one for families since there are short, flat trails, and the beach access is convenient with showers and clean restrooms.
