At ESPV , we stand by a deep conviction: a veterinarian does not only protect an animal, but also protects lives, families, communities, and our shared future.
Too often, the veterinarian is still seen only through the lens of clinical care. Yet their role is far greater. Veterinarians are on the front line of disease detection, outbreak prevention, zoonoses control, food safety, and public health protection. They work at the intersection of animal health, human health, and the environment.
This is exactly why we invest in training, scientific capacity, and professional engagement. Through our actions, including our contribution to the One Health Summer Institute (https://www.oh-si.org/), we want to support a new generation of veterinary professionals who are ready to understand today’s challenges, anticipate tomorrow’s risks, and respond with competence, integrity, and impact.
Training a veterinarian is not only about teaching knowledge.
It is about preparing an actor of prevention.
It is about shaping a health leader.
It is about strengthening the resilience of our health systems.
It is about protecting far more than animals — it is about protecting society.
To all those who choose every day to serve health through veterinary medicine: thank you. Your commitment matters. Your expertise saves lives. Your mission is essential.
