Welcome to Happy Dogs Aigle, a purpose built boarding and daycare centre specially designed for the comfort and happiness of our canine guests. Located in the heart of the Swiss countryside yet only 5 minutes above Aigle village (10 minutes from the motorway) on the Leysin road. Tucked away down a long drive in a beautiful location with lots of open spaces and walks, we are well away from noisy, b

usy roads or pollution. We bought this farm in 2015 specifically with our dog business in mind. Our promise is simple and genuine - we will treat your dogs as we want ours to be treated when we travel. That means lots of walks, fun and belly rubs. Comfortable accommodation with plenty of family contact, stimulation, exercise but also quality quiet time. Our goal is that every dog feels safe, secure and happy staying with us. We want you to come home to happy, relaxed dogs who are excited to see you and to come back to see us next time.

With thanks to Dr Conor Brady at Dogs First, I tried the tip of offering the dogs two bowls of water this morning: one with fresh plain water and the other with fresh water and a little salt added (I added a “dash”, it was maybe 1/4 teaspoon).

I didn’t expect much of a reaction because the dogs aren’t overheating. They’re in the shade and we’re keeping them very cool during this heatwave.

But Millie went straight to the salted water!

Please note: if you try this, ALWAYS offer plain fresh water alongside the salted water and let your dog choose. The idea is to give them the option, not to replace their normal drinking water.
