So it been 2 years since I started to wind down my dog grooming business 😢 but we are now in a position to offer doggie day care at our home or dog boarding during the week and weekends. Just an idea that I am putting out there. Message me if you are interested 🥰

It's been 5 years since I started my little business and it's has been amazing but hard at times especially during covid. Being self employed was not easy. So as most of you know I found other work during the pandemic which has lead me in a different direction and grow over the past 2 years.

So it is with regret that I have decided to close my business in the interest of my work life balance. Doing 2 jobs has just got too hard to manage.

I will honor all bookings that I have but after June I won't be booking anymore appointments.

I would like to thank my amazing customers and their lovely dogs I consider you all as friends. It has been a fantastic 5 years

So today’s the day that business gets back to the new normal. All services can now be offered but still with covid protocols in place. I think I have fitted everyone in that had a cancelled appointment please let me know if I have forgotten you (sorry there was a lot !) no appointments available now until May.

Moving forward I am cutting down my grooming hours I will be working Wednesday and Thursday only. So as a result I won’t be taking on any new clients and to avoid disappointment you need to make sure you have your next appointments booked in well in advance.

UPDATE: Yesterday the Pet Industry Federation provided some clarification on the guidelines for Groomers during this lockdown, which now states we are only allowed to groom dogs on vets advice. I have checked this with me local council who have also confirmed this information. You as customers can be fined £200 for breaking the travel restrictions and I can be fined 1k for trading illegally so as a result I am having to close doors as of today 😢

I will be contacting all customers with appointments booked but please bear with me.
I am always here for advice on grooming, and I look forward to seeing you soon 🤞

*National lockdown 2021*

The official statement from the government under the category businesses that can remain open is:

‘Animal Rescue Centres, Boarding Facilities and animal groomers (May continue to be used for animal welfare, rather than aesthetic purposes)’

Now this statement, particularly the word ‘welfare’ is very much open to interpretation.

Some may say ‘welfare’ is regular visits to the dog groomer whilst others might say it would be emergency reasons only.

So, I am torn.
I would love this all to be over sooner rather than later therefore feel that by closing would support my community and NHS by us all sticking together and staying home. However I understand that in some cases your dog may really need to come visit me.

I’ve decided that the best way to go forward would be to leave it up to you.

If you feel that your dog will be able to miss an appointment and therefore not have an effect to his or hers welfare then please feel free to cancel your appointment.
(Please note that I will always be available to contact for brushing tips and any other queries you may have).

If you feel that missing an appointment will have an effect on your dog’s welfare then I will continue with the appointment with the same current covid practices that I have in place.

So if you have an appointment in the next 6 weeks I ask that you please contact me via direct message and let me know how you would like to proceed.

So messy muttz has closed it doors for the Christmas break. Wishing all my customers and their families a Merry Christmas and a hopefully better new year. I would like to thank you all for your support and understanding with all the changes this year. See you all in 2021 🐶😘
