“Even Queens Can Cry”💔🇺🇲🐴

I still can’t believe it. I’ve followed Zenyatta in every single race, from her debut until today. 19 wins, 19 moments of pure magic, 19 times she made us feel invincible. Today, I thought it would be the 20th. The last one. The one that would seal her as the perfect legend.

And then… just a few strides before the wire, the magic slipped away. An epic run, a breathtaking rally like only she can do, but the finish line told a different story. A loss. The only one.

You know what? I can’t call it a loss. I saw a mare with the biggest heart, giving everything until the very last stride. She gave us more than perfection—she gave us raw, real emotion.

For me, Zenyatta will always be the Queen. Not because she was undefeated, but because every time she stepped on that track, she reminded us why we love this sport: for those moments when time stops and anything feels possible.

American Pharoah never seemed nervous. Even in crowded paddocks or in the moments before a race, he carried a calm presence that stood out. His running style was smooth, almost effortless. He didn’t fight for the lead — he just took it, as if it naturally belonged to him.

On his way to the Triple Crown, there were no dramatic comebacks or photo finishes. He won with control, never flashy. At Belmont, as the wire approached, he still looked like he had more to give. And he gave it, easily.

After thirty-seven years of waiting, few expected the horse who ended the drought to be so composed, so unassuming. But maybe that was the point: American Pharoah didn’t chase history. He simply became it.

The black stallion, Galaxy, is one of the most beautiful horses I've ever seen. Galaxy was a band stallion on Pryor Mountain for many years, but lost his family to another stallion during the winter of 2018-2019. Now 19 years old, Galaxy leads the life of a bachelor. This photo of Galaxy in all his glory, was taken when he was still a band stallion back in 2018. He certainly was a force to be reckoned with. ❤

“The Look Back” – Secretariat in the Paddock🇺🇲👇

In the golden stillness of a late summer afternoon, the great chestnut stallion stood quietly by the paddock fence, his head slightly tilted, his gaze drifting far beyond the horizon. It was Secretariat—the champion who once set the tracks of America ablaze with strides too vast to be real, too graceful to belong to this world.

Now, in the peaceful fields of Claiborne Farm, the roar of the crowd was long gone, replaced by the gentle rustle of leaves in the Kentucky breeze. But in his deep, thoughtful eyes, a silent reel played on—a private film of glory: Churchill Downs echoing with cheers, the sudden burst of speed in the Preakness, and then that flawless Belmont run, when he didn’t just beat his rivals—he outran time itself.

Many watched him, admired him still. But Secretariat saw only the ghost of his younger self, mane flying, heart pounding like a storm unleashed. He wasn’t longing—he was remembering. Because true champions never forget who they were. And even when their world slows down, in their eyes, the race still runs.
