He was diagnosed with brain cancer today.
We scheduled his goodbye for September 12th. Originally we thought it was dementia but his rapid decline and new found aggression (he tried to attack his vet today) made the vet realize this more than likely a brain tumor and based on the progression timeline, probably an aggressive cancer. He was my service dog for 7.5 years and is the love of my life. My first baby, Ive had him my whole adulthood. He's heavily medicated to give us these precious 3.5 weeks but if he gets worse quickly we are prepared to say goodbye sooner. The 12th was the first day my work would allow me to put in a time off request.
This blindsided us today and we are grieving. We thought we'd have till at least Christmas. Seeing how relaxed he is on all these meds really helps me solidify my decision to Euth.
Jager, you are loved more than you will ever know. Saying goodbye to you is the hardest thing I will ever have to do.
