Ita going to be an EXTREMELY hot day today. PLEASE keep your pets inside and minimize any outdoor time.
If you bring your dog outside please make sure they are shaded have water and NOT on pavement.
Be aware of signs of over heating such as.⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
- Excessive panting and drooling: Dogs primarily cool themselves by panting, but excessive panting can indicate overheating.
- Lethargy and weakness: A normally energetic dog may become unusually sluggish and unwilling to move.
-Bright red or blue gums: Healthy gums should be pink. Bright red gums can indicate increased blood flow and overheating.
-Difficulty breathing: Rapid or labored breathing is a serious sign.
-Vomiting and diarrhea: These can be signs of heatstroke.
-Disorientation and unsteadiness: The dog may stumble or appear confused.
-Increased heart rate: A rapid heartbeat can be an indicator of heatstroke.
