To wig or not to wig? Joey had the most awesome crazy wig but the decision was to take it off this time, after all it's only hair and will grow back quickly if his owners didn't like the smooth looking head. Personally I think he has the most beautiful smooth head 🐾💕
On a side note Joey is one of the best behaved young spaniels I've ever worked with. Good boy Joey, I love you 😍

Happy receptionists day to me and here I am with my eldest fluffy friend Mr G. Not only am I a one to one groomer who spends hours working alone, I am receptionist, planner, buyer, student ( always learning), cleaner and washer. That's before I step inside and become a mum. We spend many hours on our own and these special moments are priceless. We don't always get the perfect groom on our golden oldies but we get the perfect groom for them. Here's to many more hours with this special boy 💕🐾

Sharing again as still I see people walking dogs when temperature is too high. Heatstroke can kill and will do so quickly. Walk early morning or later in the evening when the temperature drops. Keep those fluffy ones safe today. 🐾💕

Matted fur it hurts right? Yep it does imagine your hair held tightly back for a period of time.

Yes these matts do so much damage beyond beauty. They restrict blood supply to the skin. That hurts and that means when they are removed a massive blood supply whooshes rushes to the area. Thank goodness that skin says, I have feeling. But on the ears especially you may get blood dripping from the ears. No one cut your dog, someone released your dogs discomfort

Had a great day in Frimley updating my first aid. I highly recommend Sophie Bell at Animal Love Pet First Aid. I learn something new everytime. As a dog owner I think it's good to have some knowledge of first aid. So if you fancy it then take a look at sophie's website. There are also lots of online courses available.

I have some exactly like this and that's why I'm so glad you owners trust me when I say they really are ok when the gate closes. I equally have those dogs who can't wait to get in the gate and don't look back. One rule definitely doesn't fit all.
As long as you know once your fluff ball is in my hands I treat them like one of my own. 🐾💕

Regular grooming is so important with these wooly coated dogs. It doesn't mean they enjoy it but they have a lifetime of coat maintenance ahead of them so we have to do what is best for them. This gorgeous boy has a tight curly coat ( it doesn't look it now he's been groomed) and isn't a fan of being brushed. Infact I used to struggle to give him a good brush and comb through. With 6 weekly visits to me for a full groom and then a mid groom bath and brush out he now has a well maintained coat and his owner can relax knowing he's not getting knotty and matted which can cause pain to him. He's now happy for me to brush and comb through his legs without him jumping about. Small baby steps and every groom he's getting better and more relaxed. Just got to work on getting every nail trimmed 🤪🐾❤️

When it's your week off, you've groomed your own dogs 👌and you've got your tax accounts up to date. You wake up thinking it's going to be a long dog walk and relaxing day only to wake and find it's grey and raining outside....let's paint the salon. Fingers crossed the dreary day hasn't left me with patchy walls in the morning. 🐾💕🙏 Can we all manifest some sun for me for the next three days off 🙏🤷‍♀️☀️

Books are open for the rest of the year so check your messages as I'm going through this week to book everyone in.
Because appointments are fewer this year I'm working my way through clients who are on shortest to longest schedules. Meaning those who come 3 weekly have priority over those on 10 plus weekly schedules. It seems the fairest way to do this. Hope you all understand. 💕

I'm not currently taking on new clients, thanks to those of you who recommend me. ❤️ I'm constantly having to turn people away at the moment. There seems to have been a puppy boom again. I can however recommend some other groomers locally should people need one.
