Our sweet baby Charlotte (Heartbeat Royal Black Magic out of Heartbeat Princess Patricia and Heartbeat Hero of Tobruk) made us so proud this weekend at the Basenji Club of Canada Nationals in Maxville Ontario, hosted by the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Dog Association.
She secured a Best of Opposite against a strong lineup of other Basenjis from across both Canada and the US. Not to be forgotten however, Jupiter (Heartbeat Drops of Jupiter) also secured an Award of Merit alongside her granddaughter.
Congratulations to Martin Gauthier and their boy Logan (Heartbeat Embrace the Unknown), who took Select Male and Best Canadian Bred. You and Claude truely did Embrace the Unknown when you adopted your boy and decided to try out show handling. We are blessed to have such wonderful puppy family as yourselves.
Thank you Cody Merrill for all your hard work you have put into your girls Honey (Heartbeat Sweet Summer Sunshine), and Everest (Heartbeat Top of the World). It was fantastic as always to get to play with the grandbabies and look forward to lots more fun with them. We are blessed to have you and your family with us.
Congratulations LaDonna Bodnarchuk to your win of Best of Breed - Altered with Erie (Heartbeat Shining Waters) , and to Best Altered Female with Davina (Blackwing's Davina Valentine). Your help in and out of the ring is worth its weight in gold which your heart must be made of.

And especially a thank-you to Kathie Upton for arranging the whole specialty. Once again you did the impossible and got a pack of Basenjis plus their owners organized in some semblance of order.
