Office to Advance Women Apprentices Manitoba

The Office to Advance Women Apprentices Manitoba (OAWA-MB) works with women in the skilled construction trades to assist them in gaining and maintaining employment in their trade, provide support through their apprenticeship, identify barriers to their entry and advancement in the industry and work with our partners to eliminate and mitigate these barriers.

OAWA is a project of Canada’s Building Trades Unions (CBTU) and is aimed at assisting and mentoring women in the skilled construction trades. Skilled trades offer well-paying, rewarding, lifetime careers and this Office will work to link women with job opportunities, training and career support. This project is based on the highly successful Office to Advance Women Apprentices - Newfoundland &Labrador which has been in operation for 10 years.
