thepawshdog Puppy Playtime at The Pawsh Dog will resume on Friday June 5 and Sunday June 7.

Puppy Playtime is where puppies can make new friends and have fun in a safe, enriching, and supervised environment with puppies their own size. And hey, sometimes the parents make new friends too!

Well-socialized puppies usually develop into safer, more relaxed and enjoyable adult dogs. This is because they’re more comfortable in a wider variety of situations than poorly socialized dogs, so they’re less likely to behave fearfully or aggressively when faced with something new.

There nothing quite like puppy playtime at The Pawsh Dog. Twice a week our Wellness Centre turns into the cutest place on earth.

Puppy Playtime creates a unique socialization opportunity for puppies to interact with other puppies and their human families in a safe, controlled, and enriching environment.

Puppy playtime is for puppies between 10 and 24 weeks of age who have received at least two rounds of puppy vaccinations.

Little Puppies: 0 – 12 pounds meet at 6:10pm
Medium Puppies: 13 – 30 pounds meet at 7:00pm
Big Puppies: 31+ pounds meet at 7:50pm

Cost is $15 plus GST, or free for valid Puppy Passport holders.

In response to the Public Health Order for the Province of Manitoba:

The Pawsh Dog is a licensed kennel that also offers pet food and supplies for sale and other services critical for the health and welfare of pets including grooming, wellness, and rehabilitation services. Based on item 4 and item 73, we have been deemed an essential business by the Province of Manitoba.

We will continue to provide critical boarding and day care services, as well as grooming, retail, and wellness services.

Non essential services, including group classes and puppy play time are now cancelled until April 14.

We are passionate about out role in providing care to dogs whose owners are not able to care for them. These owners may be health care professionals, first responders, quarantined, or otherwise involved in ensuring that Manitoba continues to function for it's citizens. We stay open for you.

We are also passionate about pet grooming as an essential service. Whhile we expect to see some controversy on the topic, we will NOT budge on our commitment to our position that grooming is absolutely critical to the health and wellness of animals.

We are NOT the same as a human hair salon. Proper grooming of pets ensures that pets are clean and comfortable and prevents skin infections, hot spots, un-hygienic bums, infestations by ticks, fleas, lice and even maggots on a dog's skin and coat. While most people are able to wash and brush their own hair... many dogs are intolerant of handling by their owners, or owners have physical limitations or no access to proper equipment. Basic husbandry and hygiene for animals living in people's homes is an essential component to maintaining a healthy home and family for both the human and canine family members.
