**GREAT NEWS**
HUNTER has been found! We are so relieved!! We confirmed with the owner this morning and she was indeed reunited with him last night.

Thank you to everyone in the neighborhood, all the staff, and Facebook followers who shared and went out to put up posters, hand out flyers and looked for Hunter. We are beyond grateful and are very happy he's back with his family safe and sound. ❤

😸 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗬 𝗛𝗨𝗚 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗬 😸

Today's the purr-fect day to show your feline friend a little extra love – but remember, not all cats enjoy being contained in a full-on hug (and that's okay!). Whether it's a gentle cuddle, a head boop, or just hanging out in the same room, every cat has their own way of giving and receiving affection.

If your kitty is a cuddlebug, snap a photo and share it with us in the comments – we'd love to see all of your cat love! 💙

It's been a little while since we've posted – so let's catch up! We'd love to see what your furry (or feathered, or scaled!) friends have been up to. Drop a recent photo of your pet in the comments and tell us their name and one fun fact about them! ⤵

✨ We'll go first:
Staff member Brooke's pack includes Yazzy the cat – an affectionate little guy with an obsession for ice cream; Elli, the oversized cuddlebug who's convinced she's a lap dog; and lastly, Theodora the ball python, who could spend hours watching TV (seriously – she's fascinated by moving screens!).

Let's see your companions – we've missed connecting with you! 💙

*** Please note: while we love all animals, PVH does not treat snakes or other reptiles 🐍

𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗬: 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗽! 💩

Let's talk about something every pet parent deals with – and honestly, sometimes wishes they didn't have to... 💩 It might not be glamorous, but your pet's p**p can actually tell you a lot about their health!

✅ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹?
➝ Firm but not hard
➝ Chocolate brown
➝ Passed once or twice a day (depending on diet)

🚩 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹:
➝ Diarrhea, constipation, or straining
➝ Mucus, blood, or anything "wiggly" (yep, worms)
➝ Sudden changes in colour, shape, or frequency

It's not the most pleasant part of pet care, but keeping an eye on what's in the litter box or backyard can help us catch health issues early!

Got questions? We've got answers (and a strong stomach) 🙂‍↕️

❄️🏒 𝗚𝗢 𝗝𝗘𝗧𝗦 𝗚𝗢! 🏒❄️

While we probably would never get such cooperation from the 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 Lil' Bit, this is how we'd get her all dressed up to support the Winnipeg Jets Whiteout (thanks to the magic of AI)!

After such an amazing win the other night, we can hardly wait until they face off against the Dallas Stars in series 2 tomorrow. The energy in Winnipeg is electric right now, and we just know the Jets are going to keep the momentum going! 🌨

🌡 𝗠𝗬𝗧𝗛𝗕𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗬: 𝙊𝙋𝙀𝙉 𝙒𝙄𝙉𝘿𝙊𝙒 = 𝙎𝘼𝙁𝙀𝙏𝙔 🌡

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝘆𝘁𝗵: "Cracking the window keeps my dog safe while waiting in the car."
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: This is FALSE! 🚫

Summer weather has officially made its appearance, and it's time for a vital reminder: leaving your dog in a parked car, even for a few minutes, can be deadly.

Even on a 22°C day (that's room temperature!), the inside of a car can reach over 47°C in under an hour – and most of that heat buildup happens in the first 10-20 minutes.

Cracking the windows does very little to slow that heat. Studies show it has no significant impact on how fast a car heats up. Dogs also can't regulate their temperature the same way humans do, making them far more vulnerable to heatstroke, organ failure, and death.

No quick errand is worth the risk – please leave pets at home, where it's cool and safe! 🐾

🐜 𝗗𝗢𝗡'𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗧: 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡! 🐜

It's 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝘀𝘁, which means pets are due for their next dose of tick prevention!

Did you already know these important tick facts? 👀

➔ Ticks become active when temperatures rise above 0°C – that means they're already out and about looking for their next hosts!
➔ Ticks aren't just hiding in forests – your pet can pick them up in backyards, city parks, and even on walking trails.
➔ Ticks in Manitoba can carry serious diseases like Lyme disease and anaplasmosis – illnesses that can have lasting effects on your pets' health.

Preventing tick bites is key to keeping your pets safe. Giving prevention medication on time and doing daily tick checks can make a huge difference! 🐶🐱

𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗪𝗘𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗗𝗔𝗬: 𝗕𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆! ❤️‍🩹🚨

April is National Pet First Aid Awareness Month – so it's the perfect time to make sure you're ready for the unexpected!

A well-stocked pet first aid kit can make all the difference. Some essentials to include are:
✔️ Gauze, non-stick bandages, and adhesive tape
✔️ Digital thermometer (and a little petroleum jelly for easier use)
✔️ Tweezers and blunt-end scissors
✔️ Antiseptic wipes and antibiotic ointment
✔️ Instant cold packs
✔️ Extra leash, muzzle, and gloves
✔️ Your veterinarian’s contact information

Knowing what to have on hand – and how to use it – can help you stay calm and act quickly in an emergency. Preparedness saves lives! 💙🐾

💙 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨, 𝗟𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗦! 💙

As Vet Receptionist Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to once again celebrate our incredible reception team 😸

Veterinary receptionists are the frontline and backbone of every single clinic. They juggle phone calls, comfort worried pet parents, keep things running smoothly, and somehow still greet every client with a smile. Their work often goes unseen, but it's absolutely vital.

This little coffee bar is just a small reflection of our immense gratitude – because honestly, there's no gift big enough to thank them for everything they do! ☕💐

To anyone visiting a vet clinic: please remember to be kind and patient with the front desk team. No matter what hospital you walk into, your compassion makes a difference. It costs nothing to be kind, and it means EVERYTHING!

And lastly, to the many amazing receptionists at other clinics we interact with every day – thank you, as well! We see your hard work, and we appreciate all that you do to support pets, clients, and fellow veterinary professionals 🐾
