I am a very energetic happy confident kitten!
Right out of the gates I made myself at home. Hiding under the bed? Nope! Running from your foot steps? Not a chance! Quiet time? Nah!

I love playing with toys, playing with your feet and legs as you walk by and best of all…. Playing with the resident cat!

My foster mom says if I was a human, I would have no filter. Can’t take a hint. No clue! So for humans, give me 2 seconds to claim your heart with my cuteness, persistence and kitten antics.

Now, The cat in my foster home usually takes a few weeks to accept a new kitten in his house….bah…. I didn’t have time for that! So I pestered, I poked, I jumped, I followed, I pounced, I copied…I did everything to him! He may have lost his voice a bit with his hissing but guess what- I won him over and he loves me!!! He really does!

Foster mom loves how much he plays with me! I have brought out the kitten in him again!

I shared this story because I would love to have a buddy in my new house. Yes, I can entertain myself, but boy is it fun to have a wrestle partner. I probably would even like to have a dog as a buddy because I am so confident! Playing with a dog’s tail is probably just as much fun as playing with a cat tail and that is a favourite game of mine!

I haven’t met kids but I don’t see that being a problem! As long as they know I am still a kitten learning what is ok!

Also- I have 2 speeds. On and off. I am cute during both!

I will even take a quick nap mid-play! Middle on the floor? Sure? Draped over the back of the couch? Done that too! On your lap after playing with your fingers? Been there!
I am such a happy kitty I even sleep with a smile!!

I am learning to use the scratching post (Cause my foster brother does!) and I always use the litter box!

So - if you are looking for a kitten to keep you entertained…I may be your kitten!

Cactus (now Zola) Update 🌵

Cactus has been mobile, happy, and healthy since completing both of her FHO surgeries—and the best news? She’s already been adopted and is thriving in her forever home! 💛

But her journey left behind big vet bills. Her care totaled $7,842.44. With $2,863.53 raised, there’s still over $2,000 outstanding.

Our annual Plant Sale is happening a little earlier this year and will run from August 17-20.

If you're organizing your garden, or have anything to spare, we're on the hunt for donations of any seeds, pots, perennials, or houseplants to aid us in this fundraiser.

Donations are needed by August 15, and we have drop off houses throughout the City, and a location in Steinbach. Please email [email protected] for more information, or to receive the list of homes accepting plants.

Lilo’s fight isn’t over yet.

After a recent setback in her recovery, Lilo needed additional veterinary care, and her medical costs have now grown to $3,600. So far, we’ve raised only $50 toward her treatment.

She came to us with her litter after testing positive for parvovirus—a highly contagious and often fatal illness in puppies. While parvo is a tough fight for such a young and fragile pup, Lilo has shown incredible resilience. With the support of our veterinary team and her loving foster home, we’re determined to give her every chance at a full recovery.

These pups have been working so incredibly hard!
Portia loves to be outdoors. She works hard to be in the sun as much as possible 🌞
Ryker was working hard at the beach, having so much fun 🏝️
And Roxy just loves people. She works hard to also be outside on walks as much as possible.

Heartworm preventative day!

Just when you thought mosquitoes couldn't get any worse, those pesky pests can transmit HEARTWORM, a parasitic disease that can affect any dog regardless of age, s*x or habitat. Dogs are considered the most common host for heartworms, however heartworms may also infect more than thirty animal species (including coyotes, foxes, wolves, domestic dogs, cats, ferrets, etc.) and even humans. Treatment for heartworm can be hard on your pet and your pocketbook.

Heartworm preventives are 99% effective, protect your pet!
