When the WECHS Veterinary Clinic opened, our goal was to reduce the number of stray animals and remove financial barriers to essential veterinary care.
As our community’s needs have evolved — and to continue to align with our mission — we’ve made thoughtful changes to ensure the greatest impact with the resources we have.
Our clinic will now solely focus on:
• Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for community cats, which is the most effective way to humanely reduce outdoor cat populations.
• Targeted support for owned pets through referrals from trusted community partners and municipal-issued vouchers for low-income residents and feral caregivers, ensuring help reaches those who need it most.
For the first time since opening our clinic in 2011, we are having to increase our feral cat surgery fee to $75 effective January 12, 2026. To help offset this fee increase, our frequent fixer cards will be adjusted to 8 paid (non voucher) surgeries get the 9th free (previously 10 paid surgeries).
All feral cat surgeries still include the same FREE community cat package. The package includes a standard ear tip, microchip, dose of flea prevention FVRCP and Rabies vaccines.
