So happy for the closure for her family. 🙏
BUT, DNA was first allowed and used as forensic evidence in a criminal case in 1986!!! Why has it taken so long to give this family peace?

On March 21, 1977, 16-year-old Dawn Momohara was found dead in her Honolulu high school. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled, but investigators weren't able to identify a suspect at the time. Now, thanks to advances in DNA technology, detectives have matched genetic material found at the crime scene to Gideon Castro, who graduated from Momohara's high school in 1976. Just when I think I'm cooking supper alone. Guess who joins me in the kitchen? Yup. Sheba on the left and Peggy on the right. If you think the 30 second rule applies in this kitchen, think again. These two are faster than a bolt of lightning when it comes to me dropping a morsel or two on the floor. They are my little clean up crew and let me tell you, these floors have never been cleaner.😂

My journey to opening Mama Laurie's Doggy Day Care comes from a place deep within my heart. Over the years, as someone who often had to work out of town, the challenge of finding a loving and nurturing environment for my beloved husky was daunting.
It broke my heart to learn that so many dogs in day care were confined to kennels for the majority of their day, only let out for brief p*e breaks and, if they were fortunate, a quick 10-minute romp outside. This was not the life I wanted for my fur baby, nor any other.

I made a promise to myself and my husky that when I retired, I would create a haven for dogs—a place where they could play, explore, and receive the love and attention they deserve all day long. And now, here we are. I've kept that promise and opened Mama Laurie's Doggy Day Care.

It's a dream come true to provide a space where your dogs can feel at home, loved, and cared for, just as they would be with you. Because in my heart, every dog deserves a day filled with joy, play, and the freedom to just be a dog. Welcome to our family.
