Faith has been returned to us
Please join us in welcoming her back after 3 years

Faith was not using the litter box and began pooping on carpets in her home.
Since her return, she has been using the litter box religiously with no accidents, and is being a friendly affectionate girl.

She was very recently vet checked to ensure health was not the cause, as she had UTI months ago that seems to have disrupted her litter habits.

Faiths records will be reviewed by our vet and she will get what she needs to become a happy member of a quiet, happy home.

Henry had a great vet visit for his annual check up and vaccines.
He met with Dr McKay and did really well.
He only grumbled when she touched him.

Henry is one of our sanctuary dogs.
He entered our care in 2021 and never left for one good reason. He has trauma.
Henry's story has been shared numerous times on our page, but the gist is that he came from multiple homes where he was abused and he bit multiple times.

We worked with Henry one on one for 8 months before we decided he needed to stay where he was. Safe and happy with his new mom & dad.

Now Henry has a sister and though we meet the odd struggle with him, he knows he will never ever be hit again.

Henry came from homes with domestic violence.

He rose above.

Henry is what we stand for.
He trusts and loves with abandon. He can meet new people and take treats from kids through a barrier. He learned that we will never harm him.

I will share a story that hit me in the heart.
Henry had a hot spot on the side of his face 2 summers ago.
We didn't yet know.
Rob was sitting in a lawn chair in front of Henry and pet his face in that spot and caused pain.
All Henry registered was that Daddy caused pain.
He snarled and approached Rob face to face, growling, as if to ask how he could hurt him after all this time.
It was innocent yet it could have ended differently.
I intervened, calmed Henry, and sent him to his room with a cookie once calm.
Everyone took a deep breath and we reintroduced Henry so he and Rob could get closure that the incident was only a misunderstanding (as so many issues with rotties are).

Another Henry story from longer ago -
Rob and I were play fighting in the pool. Henry saw something he had seen before in less innocent situations. He immediately went into protection mode and wouldn't allow Rob near me.
We de-escalated things and explained as well as we could that no harm was being done.

Henry has come so far and we love him beyond words. He is our handsome special man and we couldn't be more proud of him.

Update on Jube Jube
It was agreed upon by all involved in JJs case that unfortunately the bone was not stable enough to support pinning. He had a successful amputation and is recovering very well.
The second photo shows scarring all over his hind end that was discovered while shaving for surgery.
JJ got really lucky. Like really lucky.
He was loved by the people who he came to and were caring for him. He didn't lose his life.

Please please keep your cats indoors.
Jube Jube came from somewhere, from someone's barn or someone's home, or the offspring of one.
Cats are NOT a natural part of our ecosystem. In fact, they are an invasive species when left to wander here.
They can be excellent pest control for farm properties but they also decimate protected and endangered species and populations. Song birds and flying squirrels etc etc.
And they lose their lives and limbs.
This is the second stray cat who lost a leg this month. Both came out very fortunate.
JJ was attacked by either a dog or a coyote, a jaw strong enough to break his bone.

JJs future is bright.
He will be going straight from the clinic, to his new home with the best veterinary technician.

Update
We are holding off on amputation while imaging is being reviewed by another surgeon
Part of the reason we initially assumed amputation would be the only option is that the bite wound was already infected, which makes surgery more risky.
If we can save a life and a leg, we'd love to!
I will update when we hear back from the doctors.
For now, Jube Jubes pain is being managed and he is safe, warm, eating & drinking and using the litter box. He has been an absolute gentleman throughout, these kitties never cease to amaze me.
With or without his back leg, this young man is a trooper and will be loved.

This sweet boy has a broken tibia fibia caused by a Bite from a dog or coyote.
Jube Jube here is one fortunate guy.
He escaped with his life but he will lose his leg.
The estimate for his amputation and neuter is just under $1800.
