I apologize for the lengthy post. Today, I was bitten by a dog, but fortunately, I can still provide grooming services. Although the bite was minor, it highlights the importance of regular grooming, which I have repeatedly told to my clients. A good exemple : my own boy Hunter hates it. He growls at me when I do his nails. He will run away if he knows it is grooming time. I have dogs they are not tie at all but him I can’t otherwise he’ll be gone in a second.
Now, consider a dog that dislikes grooming and only receives it 2-3 times a year. From now on, I will be more strict about the grooming schedule of my clients' dogs. If a dog has not been groomed within the past three months, I will no longer accept it. I will not risk being injured again and being unable to do what I love due to being overly accommodating and nice.

Dogs that are groomed regularly are easier to handle. They’re more likely to stand calmly, allow brushing, nail trims, and face work because it’s familiar — not a once-in-a-while ordeal.

A groomer who sees a dog often can notice subtle changes: skin issues, lumps, ear problems, coat changes, or behavioral shifts. This builds trust not just with the dog, but with the owner too.

Regular grooming turns the groomer into a familiar, safe person — not a stranger. Many dogs begin to show excitement, affection, and confidence during visits, strengthening that human-animal bond.
