🌸 Easter Warning: Lilies 🌸
As we prepare for Easter celebrations and spring bouquets, please be aware that Lilies are highly toxic to cats!
While they look stunning in a centerpiece, even a tiny amount of exposure can be life-threatening. Here is what every cat owner needs to know:
• Total Toxicity: All parts of the lily—the petals, leaves, stems, and even the pollen—are poisonous.
• The Water Matters: If a cat drinks the water from a vase containing lilies, it can cause acute kidney failure.
• A Tiny Amount is Too Much: Simply grooming a few grains of pollen off their fur can be enough to cause a medical emergency.
⚠️ Symptoms to watch for ⚠️
- Vomiting
- Lethargy or hiding
- Loss of appetite
- Increased or decreased urination
Timing is critical. If you suspect your cat has nibbled on a lily or come into contact with lily pollen, please contact us immediately.
Let's keep our feline friends safe this spring! Consider "cat-safe" alternatives for your Easter table, like Easter Orchids, African Violets, or Roses!
