Due to an equipment failure that will take a couple of months to rectify, Nova Scotia Lasers won't be at the Yarmouth Farmers' Market for a while.

I apologize to any of my customers that had gifts/projects that they planned to get made.

We appear to have had a failure of the LASER tube in our cutter/engraver. This is not an unexpected failure as the type of LASER tube our system uses has an issue with a slow loss of carbon dioxide gas pressure over an extended period (5 to 7 years). When the gas pressure reaches a critical point, the LASER stops firing and the tube has to be sent back to the factory in Arizona for regassing and testing.

I'm still running tests to try and confirm that it is a tube failure and not a failure of a less expensive electronic component.

Until we get the system up and running again, we are unable to do any cutting or engraving work.

So, we've dug all the nickles out of the sofa.. and with tax and gas money we're $500 short on the new (to him) truck.

Quick etch to test an idea of doing album cover art on black granite.

The photo was taken straight after etching, with the 3/8" thick slab of granite still sitting on the honey comb downdraft cutting platform. There are lots of reflections in the polished granite of the interior of the laser cabinet. Across the Supertramp name is a reflection of the gantry that carries the moving LASER optical head.

Excellent news! The always popular pilsner glasses which have been out of stock for some time now ... we've found a new source and more are winging their way to us! Should be in stock again by the end of the week.

Beer mugs are running low, but we still have a few left, and more will be coming by the end of the month.
