A very important reminder for all pig owners… ❤️
Please, if you have a female pig, consider having her spayed.
Female pigs are unfortunately at a very high risk of developing serious reproductive diseases, including uterine infections and uterine cancer. These conditions often show very few signs until they become life-threatening, and by then, it can progress incredibly fast.
We recently lost one of our beloved pigs, Odin, to a severe uterine infection. Within just a matter of days, the infection spread beyond her uterus, causing sepsis and infecting her bloodstream. Despite everything we could do and all the love we gave her, her little body simply couldn’t overcome it.
Our hearts are broken.
We share this not to scare anyone, but because if Odin’s story can save even one pig’s life, then her legacy will live on in a meaningful way.
Spaying isn’t just about preventing unwanted litters. it’s about protecting their health and giving them the best chance at a long, happy life.
Please speak with your veterinarian about the best time to have your pig spayed. It could be one of the most important decisions you ever make for them.
Run free, sweet Odin. You will always be loved, and we hope your story helps protect so many others. ❤️🐷
