This is so true šš» if you did your homework and chose a trainer that you trusted enough to send your horse to them, then let them do their job! This is the reason why so many of us have cut back on our client horses to just a few and are now riding more of our own. The horses are the easy part of this business, the people are what drain you.
š„ Burnout Isnāt Coming From Your Horse⦠š„
Burnout in horse training?
Itās rarelyāif everācaused by the horse.
It comes from the people.
The constant messages.
The weekly (or daily) check-ins.
The ājust popping by.ā
The subtle (or not-so-subtle) instructions on how to do the job you hired a professional to do.
You chose your trainer for a reason.
You trusted their program, their results, their experience.
So let them do their job.
Yesācommunication matters. Updates matter. Transparency matters.
But thereās a line⦠and when that line gets crossed, you become the biggest source of pressure in the entire program.
And hereās the truth:
When a trainer spends more time managing the owner than training the horseā¦
Thatās when the passion starts to fade.
Weāre here to work with horses.
Not to babysit humans.
š„ Burnout isnāt built in the barn.
Itās built in the inbox.
Respect the process. Trust the program. Step backāand let your horse move forward.
