UPDATE: We got great apps from several very kind and generous people, including one who has really the perfect set-up for housebreaking and training Daisy. We reached out to the man's social worker, and she was excited to set up a meeting with the foster and Daisy. She called the old man to give him the great news...but it turns out he's already given her away! He gave her to someone else on Friday, and he thinks it's a good home and doesn't want to move her again. We all hope she's going to get everything she needs and live a wonderful life, and at this point that's all we can do. Thanks to everyone who shared.

We were contacted by a social worker with a client who is a senior citizen on a fixed income and with mobility issues to boot!, facing eviction on Dec 31 if he doesn't get rid of his dog. The Landlord Tenant Board has already issued an eviction order, so this is a done deal if we can't take her. In spite of the fact that he literally can't afford to feed her every day, he will let himself be thrown out before he abandons her! We have to save them both by finding her a safe place to go as soon as possible!
Daisy is 1.5 years old and weighs around 35-40 pounds. She's very sweet but has ZERO training and has only been outside a handful of times in the past year! She goes to the bathroom in the apartment. She lives well with a cat, but hasn't seen another dog since she was purchased from a breeder.
The need for a foster home for Daisy could hardly be more urgent, but it needs to be an appropriate one. We need a knowledgeable, experienced handler, with a calm household, to guide Daisy straight into crate-training and a steady routine where she'll have all the time she needs to learn to go potty outside, how to walk on a leash, what she's allowed to chew etc.
