While I’m away with the petting zoo today, things have been busy back at the farm! 🫏❤️

Rosie and Polly both welcomed healthy babies within an hour of each other this morning! We were blessed with one little jack and one little jenny. 🩵🩷

A huge shoutout to Colton for holding down the fort and playing midwife while I’m away bringing the farm to everyone else! 🚜👏

Nothing beats getting baby donkey updates while you’re at an event. We can’t wait to get home for extra snuggles and to introduce these little ones properly!

🐴🤍 Meet Bjorn! 🤍🐴

These donkeys sure know how to keep us guessing!

I checked on this little mama at 7:30 a.m. and she was happily eating hay like nothing was happening. I came back out at 9:00 a.m. and baby Bjorn was already on the ground and standing! 😲

This handsome little mini jack weighed approximately 25 lbs at birth and arrived on Day 381 of gestation. Just when you think they’re going to give you lots of warning, they remind you how sneaky they can be!

One thing I hear all the time is, "Don't put donkeys in with sheep and goats—they'll kill them." While that can happen in some situations, every donkey is different. We currently have 12 jennies living right alongside our goats and sheep, and they get along just fine. They eat together, rest together, and share the pasture without any issues, and we have never had any issue. Like any livestock, it comes down to temperament, proper introductions, enough space, and good management. Our donkeys have always been part of the herd, and watching them all live peacefully together proves that not every donkey fits the stereotype!

32°C calls for a spa day ☀️✂️

Spent the day clipping our yearling mini jack “Murray” and he is feeling much better in this heat! Safe to say the winter wool had to go. 😅

Murray soaked up all the attention and stood like a champ while getting his summer makeover. Nothing better than seeing these guys cleaned up and comfortable heading into the hot weather.

Pretty sure he knows he looks handsome now too. 🤎🐴
