Today, in her 18 th year , Jayden crossed over the rainbow bridge, she was loved ❤️
When I first started caring for Jayden, she was living with Kato and Adam. She was very elusive and I rarely ever saw her, every once in a while I would see a flash of her. I remember once I was cleaning litter boxes in the basement and realized she was hiding over in the corner in a bunch of boxes. And when she realized I was looking right at her, she stared me down.
Over the years, her friends Kato and Adam passed away. Leroy joined her family and then Stevie and lastly Tawny. She liked her space , but would share space with some of her friends .
As Jayden got up in years, she began to forget that she was afraid of strangers. I would be standing in the kitchen, getting breakfast ready for the cats and she would be standing by my leg. Sometimes I wouldn’t say anything and other times I would say hello sweet girl. Having her share space with me became quite special. And in this last year, she would let me sit about a foot away from her and quietly hang out . I will admit that I never got to pet her, something I was hoping would one day happen.
Some relationships you have with friends are very hands-on. And then some other friends, are a quiet presence in your life, you respect each others space. You give each other room, and you let them know that you’re there if they need you. I have to say, even though I never got to cuddle Jayden, I have been dreading this day. I will miss you Jayden
Rest in peace ❤️
