URGENT: Bebe Needs a Loving New Home or Foster Family
Meet Bebe, a sweet girl who needs a new home through no fault of her own. ❤️
She is a large girl at 25lbs but is super sweet and well mannered.
Bebe was adopted from the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society in 2021. At the time, she was estimated to be between one and three years old, making her approximately six to nine years old today. She had originally been found abandoned outside the clinic. Her adopter was supposed to pick up a kitten the following day but after meeting Bebe, he decided she was the one for him.
Sadly, Bebe’s owner is a senior living with Alzheimer’s and is no longer able to safely care for or manage Bebe’s needs. His veterinarian Dr. Jill, has determined that it would not be safe for Bebe to return home because of her daily medical requirements.
Bebe has been receiving care from us for the past few months, including visits in her home. Yesterday, we noticed some concerning symptoms which led to a veterinary visit and a new course of action.
Bebe has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and is currently being cared for at Beechmount Animal Clinic. Her veterinary team believes that oral medication and a diabetic diet may be effective alternatives to insulin injections. However, insulin may still be required, so her future caregiver must be prepared for that possibility. Her treatment plan will ultimately depend on where she is placed and who will be responsible for her care.
Ideally, we would love to find Bebe a home with someone who has previous experience caring for diabetic cats. A quiet home where she would be the only pet would also be wonderful.
❤️ Bebe’s family is committed to helping her.
They are willing to contribute financially toward:
• Bebe’s medications
• Veterinary care
• Other reasonable expenses related to her ongoing care
They are also willing to work with a rescue, foster family, foster-to-adopt family or permanent adopter. Their only goal is to ensure that Bebe is safe, loved, and properly cared for.
Bebe is currently staying at Beechmount Animal Clinic while we search for a solution, but she cannot remain there indefinitely. We are urgently looking for a foster home, foster-to-adopt placement, rescue placement or permanent home.
This is not a surrender because Bebe is unwanted. Her family loves her and is making the responsible decision for her now that her owner’s health has made it impossible for him to provide the care she needs.
We are looking for someone who can offer Bebe the stability, patience, and love she deserves.
