Signs of heat stroke in pets

We went over the danger of leaving a pet in a hot car the other day, but pets can get heat stroke even being outside. Make sure to change their water frequently so it stays cool, and provide a shady spot for them to relax.
Dogs, cats, and especially rabbits, get warm very quickly. Keep an eye on them, and double check this list for signs of heat stroke:
Signs of heat stroke in dogs and cats:
Panting or salivating excessively
Weakness
Staggering or walking unsteadily
Vomiting
Deep red or purple tongue
Dry gums
Glazed eyes
Rapid pulse
