Saddle Up For Saugeen Hospice- September 7, 2025:

Lunch time meals will be provided by Adriene’s Canning & Jamming of Hanover. All meals are prepared using fresh ingredients, without the use of additives or preservatives. Adriene’s Canning & Jamming have received a gold award in the Speciality Foods Category in the Grey County Community Votes in both 2023 and 2024. Along with meals, Adriene makes a variety of pickles, sauces, relishes, jams, canned fruit and a large selection of pre-cooked frozen entrees.

Saddle Up for Saugeen Hospice is happening on September 7, 2025 at River Ridge Equestrian.

Join us for a day of riding, community, and support for our local hospice. Gather pledges, enjoy the trails, and make a difference close to home.

I had someone ask me a wonderful question today -- "Is it too late to sign up for the Saddle Up for Saugeen Hospice Ride?" Answer: It's absolutely not too late! Although we truly appreciate early registration just to help plan the day, remember that the earlier you register the more time you give yourself to gather some pledges to help get this hospice build happening. Plus, you and your horse are going to have a great time with friends -- and you never know what new friends you might meet along the way.

The registrations are coming in for our Saddle Up for Saugeen Hospice trail ride. We're really looking forward to seeing you on September 7th here at River Ridge having a wonderful time while supporting a great cause. Pictured today is spot #8 on our trail map for those who would like a chance to dabble in the river.

Spoiler alert -- we have some really great prizes too, including a complete saddle fitting package from certified and independent saddle fitter Laura Veenstra (https://equussaddlefitting.com/) including tree and flocking adjustment. (Western riders don't worry. Laura fits all makes and models. 🙂)

Gem and I had a gorgeous ride Tuesday on some of the bush trails. This will always be one of the most beautiful views for me -- the view right between her ears. Here we are at point #6 on our Saddle Up For Saugeen Hospice trail heading down towards the river access. We have up to 8 km of very scenic private trail ready for you on September 7th, so don't forget to register to support a great cause!

Hey folks. It's only 5 weeks away from our Saddle Up for Saugeen Hospice fundraising ride here at River Ridge and I'm getting pretty excited! I thought I'd post a few pics taken at some of the spots on the ride. This is point #22, a special place which I call "Tracy's Lookout" in honour of my dear friend Tracy Dingman. This was one of her favourite spots on our rides together. There's not a building in sight, and most days you will be greeted by a beautiful Broadwing Hawk at the edge of the forest where it meets the meadow.

What a wonderful wrap to St. Patrick’s day 2025 here at River Ridge Equestrian— thanks Samantha Bohn to making these memories possible. River (aka Go With the Flow, Irish Draught class 1 mare) really strutted her green tonight!
