Good afternoon and Happy Friday the 13th!
Is there a connection between Valentine's day, Family Day and Friday the 13!? As the saying goes; " You can choose your friends but you can't choose your family!" I have attached a picture of Diggy and Gomer portraying what family affection can feel like sometimes! All in good fun of course.
We have seen some fleas on patients recently along with a few cases of Kennel cough circulating around. It has been milder this winter. Maybe we shall see snow in a week or so, hopefully not. If you need any flea control or advice, our receptionists would be happy to help.
We are closed this coming Monday for BC Family Day, February 16th. We will be back in the office on Tuesday, February 17th.

Good afternoon, and happy Christmas Eve Eve!

We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season filled with love, peace, and plenty of time with your beloved pets. We would like to sincerely thank each and every one of our clients for trusting us with your animal family members—it truly means the world to us.

As a gentle holiday reminder, please try not to indulge your pets with too many “human” treats, whether sweet or savoury. We absolutely love seeing your pets, but no one wants to deal with a vomiting or diarrhea disaster on Christmas or Boxing Day!

For the next couple of weeks we will be intermittently closed so our staff can get a well deserved break with their families:

--CLOSED December 24th until December 28th
--OPEN for regular hours on December 29th and December 30th.
--Closing EARLY at 1pm on December 31st
--CLOSED January 2nd
Reopening for regular business hours as of Monday January 5th.

Just a quick note to let you all know that we will be closed tomorrow, November 11th, for Remembrance Day. We will reopen on Wednesday, November 12th.

We wish you all a meaningful and thoughtful Day of Remembrance. Tomorrow, we honour the brave men and women who have fought for our country, both the living and the fallen, as well as the many courageous animals who served alongside them.

Happy BC Day Long Weekend from Grace Vet!
Good day, everyone!

The August long weekend is finally here, and we hope you're all enjoying a wonderful summer so far. We’ve been seeing quite a few spear grass injuries lately—paws, ears, noses, and even throats! After your walkies, please give your furry friends a quick check to make sure they haven’t picked up any unwanted organic souvenirs. Even when you do your best to avoid it, that pesky seed seems to find a way to poke a few victims!

Please note our upcoming holiday hours:
Friday, August 1st: We’ll be closing early at 3:00 PM (a little short-staffed, thank you for your understanding).
Monday, August 4th (BC Day): Closed

We truly hope you enjoy a safe, relaxing weekend—free of emergency visits for both pets and people!

Hello Everyone,
I hope you’re all enjoying the beautiful weather we’ve been having! With Canada Day just around the corner, I wanted to send out a quick reminder. Holidays always seem to sneak up on me, so I thought it would be best to get this notice out early.

We’ve been seeing more cases of spear grass causing trouble—mostly poking paws and ears. If your dog’s been a little too adventurous in the grass, an Epsom salt soak should help with the paws. As for the ears, well… let’s just say it might require a little sedation to get the seed out (because who doesn’t love a little nap while at the vet?)

Canada Day falls on a Tuesday this year, and we’ve decided to close on Monday, June 30th, as well, to give our staff a long weekend. I’m sure many of you are doing the same, but I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We will be closed on Monday, June 30th, and Tuesday, July 1st.

Good day Folks,

Hope you are all enjoying the lovely spring weather that has finally arrived! We sure do live in a beautiful part of the world. I am sure I don’t need to remind you about fleas and ticks. Now that the sun is out we do tend to see more of the creepy crawlies pestering our pets. There are several good options to help prevent and treat our furry friends: give a call to our lovely receptionists with any questions!

We are going to be closed this weekend for Good Friday and Easter Monday. If you celebrate Easter we wish you a meaningful weekend, if you don’t we hope you have a wonderful long weekend too.

My boys are thoroughly enjoying sunning themselves in our back yard. We all need a little Vitamin D to lift our moods a little. On that note…..we have been asked by several clients recently if we are an independent hospital: Yes, we are locally owned and operated.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Good morning Folks,
Hope you are all thawing out from the deep freeze we just went through! All that snow and ice, let alone the wind chill, is just not proper. It is not what we Victorians ordered! Hopefully it will be all a distant memory as spring comes.
We are closed this coming Monday for Family day. We shall return on Tuesday. Enjoy your furry family members and the sunshine. Thank you for all of your support.

Good day folks,

Hope you are all doing well. Christmas is just around the corner
We really do appreciate all of the kind words and gifts that are given to us at this time of year. It means a lot to us. We enjoy slowly, but surely, eating all of the treats through the first 6 months of the new year.
Practicing veterinary medicine has ups and downs. We get to meet new puppies and kittens but also have to say good bye to old friends. Not to be a “downer” but rather to make us grateful for the furry friends we have and have had. I miss my first JRT, Rudager. He was a bright spark full of vim and vigor. Such a character. Helped me study through vet school.
So, during this festive season remember to be thankful for the unconditional love we have felt from our pets, especially when dealing with ‘that’ relative who drives us nuts! We look forward to helping you help your pets in the coming New Year.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a fun filled Holiday Season from all of us at Grace Vet.
