Sow Hope Farm

Sow Hope Farm Sow Hope Farm is a small urban Spin farm located in Victoria. Our farm produces organic, non chemical Vegatables and Medicinal herbs. Pierre and Jarret James.

The farm is driven by the values of sustainability, education, accessability, and community. Sow Hope was first established by our friends to return a natural agricultural area into a more modern intensive spin farm. We are now in out 6th year and established to provide Vegetables and herbs for the community. The farm is currently managed by Tyler St. Along with a group of passionate volunteers..

. Our farm size is currently 1800 sq ft, and constantly expanding. We are at the moment a non -profit farm that uses our proceeds to help the community and expand the farm. We are affiliated with helping the VIRCS refugee centre and the African Caribbean society by providing vegetables and education in organic growing. We pride ourselves on our principles of growing produce. We provide organic,non -GMO, no pesticides or chemicals vegetables. We make our own compost through the Pedal to petal compost service. We are always looking for volunteers if you are interested in learning, growing, and sharing knowledge. We have a farm stand open at the property on 3080 Washington ave. Victoria. We hope to hear from you and chat about everything plants and organic.

Rainwater harvesting system by SuperDave, Seattle Heights, Washington
This design has a filter to keep debris and mosquitos from entering the system while also allowing the the overflow to run back into the downspout when it is full. After a few rainstorms over the course of a week in the month of June (summer in Seattle) this system was full to the brim and bulging with anticipation to water the flowers and plants. One interesting tidbit of science: after testing the harvested water it had a pH of 6, which is much more ideal for watering plants than the ~8-8.5 I saw out of the tap. All the more reason to use this harvested rain to water the house plants, and any other picky plants.

I agree this is the future and much less time intensive then traditional agriculture.
