One of our very best boys left us yesterday. In many ways, he was the original “off-the-leash” goodest boy. Fourteen years ago, Shaun (†), Tiff and their girls brought Onyx into their lives, and I instantly fell in love with that little guy. Being around him sparked my own desire to have a pup, and within the year, I welcomed Jax into my life. Without Jax ‘off the leash adventures’ would never have happened, so without Onyx, none of this would be.
Onyx was a sweet, gentle, dependable, happy little bear who would just plod along at the back of the pack as he got older and his body found the trails a little harder. He always had the biggest smile on his face and when we’d turn around to check he was still coming, his floppy ears and happy smile would be the first thing we’d see. I’m going to miss that big fella a whole lot, and I know his bestest fur buddies will too!
Thank you for sharing your Onyx with us; Tiff, Emily and Maddie! I like to think that he’s found his dad, his most favourite person, and they’re throwing sticks and having the best lake adventures together… although Onyx is getting impatient because Shaun won’t throw the sticks fast enough! Thinking of you three! Rest well my big buddy, you will be missed! ❤️🐾🌈
