Hi everyone...I had a lady from Nanaimo contact me needing a weekly dog walker that is experienced and comfortable walking a reactive 4 year old pitty. She is a single mom with a special needs son so she isn't able to take the dog out as often as she would like. Please DM me if you or anyone you know might be a good fit.

Our friends at the Victoria Bulldog Society need us! 🐾❤️

While we were all bracing for the "Bomb Cyclone" here in Victoria, a new condo building went up in flames, with embers carried through the air by the gusting winds. Tragically, Mel’s house—just down the street—sustained damage and is now left with a big mess to clean up.

Mel pours her heart into rescuing dogs and has always been there for others. Thankfully, her family (two- and four-legged) were evacuated safely, but now she could use our support.

No matter how big or small, any help you can give will make a difference. Let’s rally together for Mel and the incredible work she does! 🐶💪

Wednesday morning cuddles with Flossy (aka crazy pug / parkour pug). She loves bringing me gifts of pinecones & toys but her favorite thing to do is bring me my shoes (more like stealing my shoes).

It is with great sadness that I share the passing of my mom on Wednesday, September 25th.

She was diagnosed with lung cancer in July, and the last two months have been incredibly challenging due to her cognitive decline and the rapid onset of delirium. My sister and I did everything we could to make her final days as peaceful as possible. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped provide comfort and care in her last days.

Knowing she is no longer in pain brings us some peace, but it will take time to heal from this loss.

I will be taking the next few weeks to handle arrangements and begin to come to terms with her passing.

For those with existing bookings, don’t worry — those will be kept as scheduled. However, I won’t be taking any new bookings until November.

Update on my mom, Joan:

She’s still at RJH as doctors are try to manage her delirium with different medications. It’s been a long and tough process. We’re also dealing with her lung cancer and planning for comfort care.

My mom will be having a PET scan today, and we’ll get the results on Aug 6. This will help us understand the cancer’s progression and plan next steps, including possible palliative radiation therapy.

It’s been exhausting and difficult since she went into the hospital on July 13. My sister will be flying back home to Edmonton for personal appointments but will return after we have the PET scan results. I’ve taken leave from my full time job so I can have the freedom to focus on my mom.

I am grateful for all of you and for the kind words and support provided as we navigate this challenging time.

After a number of specialist appointments and tests, my sister and I have been told that our mom has stage 3 lung cancer. Over the next little while, I will be balancing the care needs of my mom with my pet sitting obligations.

I want to assure you that I am committed to providing the best care for your pets and will do everything in my power to not disrupt your plans or the care that your pets receive.
