Waking up dahlia tubers is a perfect winter gardening job!

They need to be moved from their cold storage to a warmer location, placed in an unsealed ziploc or plastic box with pine shavings (sterile, dry soil mix or coconut coir will work too), spritzed with water and monitored.

Air flow is also important for small spaces!! Make sure you have a fan of two on the go to keep things fresh and not stagnant.

A space shortage this season had me searching for ideas to grow as much as I could in a fraction of my usual amount of space.

Seed Snails for the win!

I found the amazing Farida Sober https://www.instagram.com/faridasober on instagram who is growing some pretty incredible veggies this way! Check her out for the juiciest looking tomatoes and lots of seed snail tips.

I'm doing all of my flower babies this way this year, and so far so good. Easy to make, major space-saver, less materials, healthy seedlings!
