After 4 years of Penny’s Pals, I’ve made the decision to take a step back from accepting new training clients.

This wasn’t an easy choice, but it’s one that feels right. I’ve poured so much of myself into training over the years, and I’m ready to shift my focus and take a bit of a break from that side of the business.

To all of my past and current clients you will absolutely continue to have my support. I’m still here for you and your dogs, and you’ll be able to continue booking sessions as usual 💛

For any new training inquiries, I’ll be referring out to Mady, who I trust deeply and who I know will continue to support you and your dogs with the same level of care and dedication.

I also just want to say thank you.
Thank you for trusting me with your dogs, for allowing me to be part of your journey, and for letting me love them like they’re my own. It’s never something I’ve taken lightly.

This isn’t goodbye to training forever, just a shift, and a chance for me to refocus on other parts of Penny’s Pals that I’m really passionate about.

✨ Stay & Train Spotlight: Bruce ✨
Our sweet yellow lab Bruce 💛

Over the last week, Bruce has shown us a lot about who he really is. When dogs are with their families, they often feel confident simply because everything is familiar. When we strip that away, new environment, new rules, new expectations—we get a clearer picture of their true strengths and the areas where they need support.

Bruce is hand-shy, a bit insecure, and still learning how to navigate the world around him with confidence. That doesn’t mean he’s weak, it means he’s honest. And that honesty gives us a clear roadmap for how to help him succeed.

He’s already been with us for one week and has made huge progress toward his goals… and we still have two more weeks to build even more clarity, confidence, and calm.

🎯 Bruce’s Stay & Train goals:
• Solid recall
• Place
• No more demanding behaviours (barking & pawing)
• Learning that no means no
• Less mouthy behaviour
• Calm, neutral arrivals with people in the home
• Comfortable and settled in public spaces (patios, breweries, soccer fields)

We’re so proud of the work he’s already putting in, and we’re excited to keep showing him how capable he really is. Progress isn’t about perfection, it’s about learning how to exist calmly and confidently in the real world. 🐾💛

Meet Hobbes 💛

Not every dog comes into the world feeling safe, confident, or understood and that’s okay. Hobbes is starting his Stay & Train journey with us to learn that the world doesn’t have to be so overwhelming.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be working on confidence, leash skills, engagement, socialization, and helping him feel secure in his own skin.

Progress isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet trust, small wins, and choosing bravery anyway. We’re proud of you already, buddy.

It’s always such an honour and privilege when a rescue so near and dear to my heart reaches out and says, “We have a foster who isn’t thriving in their current environment, and we’re not sure what to do.”
And it’s an even greater privilege to be able to say, “Don’t worry — I’ll take her.” 💛

✨ Introducing Wren, an 11-month-old Lab mix from Mexico who’s doing her best to navigate this big world.
Now that she’s in Canada, she gets the chance to build confidence, find balance, and start living her very best life — one step at a time.

Wren isn’t currently available for adoption, but you can follow her journey and progress on my stories and in her highlight reel. This is definitely one you don’t want to miss. 💛

✨ Super long overdue post (because I’ve been waiting on a few words from Mady 😅), but it’s finally time to share!

Back in September, Mady and Ronnie completed the two-week Dog Trainer Development Course at in Edmonton — and I couldn’t be more proud of her and all she’s accomplished.

Mady is now officially our Junior Trainer, taking on her own client assessments and training sessions here at Penny’s Pals 💪🐾

Congratulations, Mady — your growth, dedication, and passion for dogs truly shine through in everything you do. We’re so lucky to have you on the team. 💙
