This year has been such an exciting one for us at Hipster Lasers—we’ve been diving into something totally new and seriously cool: custom skateboards! 🛹 Every board is like a blank canvas where we get to pour in creativity, precision, and craftsmanship, and the process has been just as fun for us as it has been for our customers. Seeing the reactions when someone gets their one-of-a-kind board has been incredibly rewarding, and it reminds us why we love what we do.

At Hipster Lasers, we pride ourselves on always bringing something fresh to the table each year, and skateboards are just the latest example of that commitment. From coasters to cutting boards to full-sized boards you can actually ride, our mission has always been the same: creativity, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction. ❤️ We love pushing boundaries, trying new things, and creating pieces that not only look amazing but also mean something to the people who get them.

The first weekend of the CNE is in the books, and wow—what an incredible start. 💛 From the energy in the city to the laughter and stories shared at our booth, it’s weekends like this that remind us why we love what we do.

There’s nothing quite like the fair: families making memories, friends reuniting, and that special end-of-summer magic in the air. We’re so grateful to be part of it all year after year.

We are beyond proud to be a part of something so meaningful and impactful. 💛

This week, our incredibly talented intern Lateasha was recognized as part of the Women in Fashion Technology program through George Brown College’s Fashion Exchange (F/X) — a transformative initiative that is changing lives and opening doors for women in the fashion and tech industries.

Now in its 7th year, this forward-thinking program has empowered 77 women (and counting!) to break barriers, gain advanced technical skills, and confidently enter the workforce. From laser cutting and dye sublimation to knitting and embroidery, these women are shaping the future of fashion-tech — and we’re honoured that Hipster Lasers could play a small role in that journey.

A heartfelt thank you to Minister Charmaine Williams, Associate Dean Rosa Fracassa, and the entire team at George Brown College for your leadership and vision. Your commitment to economic empowerment, equity, and skill-building is an inspiration. Lateasha — we are so proud of the work you’ve done and all that’s ahead of you. Keep shining!
