Windsor Stables horse boarding facility is seeking a contractor for a Horse Care Management position.

Located in the Vancouver Southlands equine neighbourhood, Windsor Stables is offering an opportunity for an experienced contractor to mange the care of the horses and property.

Windsor Stables includes 31 privately owned stalls, a riding ring, lunge ring, and lounge and washrooms. Windsor is a strata property, and the contractor would be responsible to enter into care agreements for the feeding and boarding of all horses stabled at Windsor.

The successful candidate should have a significant knowledge of all aspects of horse care, feeding and stable management. They should be confidently able to handle horses, and should be able to diagnose minor horse, injuries, and illnesses such as colics.

Experience with operating small farm machinery, such as tractors would be preferred, but training would be provided on site.

Ability to obtain and maintain Equine Commercial Liability Insurance will be required.

The candidate should have supervisory skills and be able to deal with a variety of people in a courteous and professional manner.

This position is due to start October 1.

We are located right next to the trail head to UBC & Pacific Spirit Park at Celtic and Balaclava, or if you prefer, it’s a 5-minute hack along an equine trail to the Southlands Riding club.

Crunched for time? We have our own fully lit year round riding ring to keep you and your horse in great shape. We also have a separate lunge ring should you need to “tweak “your mount before climbing aboard.

We offer full board which includes 4 feeds per day, stall maintenance and daily turn out, all under the supervision of our highly experienced resident Barn Manager, who is happy to work with “fussy feeders” and vitamin regimes as well as to assist with veterinary or farrier appointments if required. Ask about our grooming and exercise services as well.

Our newly renovated in and out paddocks offer fresh air and socialization for your horse as well as excellent year round drainage.

Riding on the way to a social event or before work? Windsor offers full washroom and shower facilities to help you shed the hay and appear “fabulous” for your next appointment.

Windsor's new fences are half completed! Full occupancy is available by mid August or Sept 1st.
New boarders are reserving stalls now and only a couple of the stalls with larger paddocks are still left. Contact our manager Paul for more info on available stalls. (604) 996-0746

Windsor Stables are excited to be in the process of replacing of all our attached run-out paddock fences, after which we will again be accepting new boarders.
Kudos to Bart Zayshley of BZ Built Construction who is doing a fantastic job!
There will be several stalls available in all 3 barns, including a few stalls with double sized paddocks and a couple of extra lockers for boarders with leasers who might want their own tack lockers. Contact our manager Paul for more info. (604) 996-0746
