Welcome to our new page for the Professional Dog Walking Programs at Langara College. We are excited about sharing news and information that is interesting, relevant and informative. We welcome your comments, feedback and stories; anything related to dog walking, dog health, or stories of your experiences in the Dog Walking courses offered at Langara College. Whether you are a dog owner,
or a canine caregiver discover the essential components of practical dog walking. Individual courses and certificate programs are available:
1) Professional Dog Walker - Level 1 Certificate:
Explore the theoretical and practical elements of dog behaviour, and learn tools to work with these behaviours. Discover the ins and outs of local city bylaws and what it takes to run a dog walking business. Round out your education with basic canine first aid skills.
2) Advanced Dog Walking Professional Certificate:
Expand on your existing skills as a dog walker by taking your qualifications to the next level. Created in consultation with industry professionals this series of courses is the first of its kind in BC to address advanced skills and knowledge related to dog behaviour, legalities, and training with respect to being a professional dog walker.
3) Individual courses for personal interest:
All courses in the certificate programs are 'open registration'. Register for one or more courses to be a better pet owner and to expand your knowledge of dogs and their behaviour. Courses are:
* Short term, part-time studies
* In class, and practical work
* Taught by high level, qualified industry professionals
* May take courses individually or as part of a certificate program(s)
* Group discounts are available
