Kokomo Therapy Dog

Kokomo Therapy Dog I'm Kokomo, a toy-poodle . My mom is an author. She published my motivational & inspirational st That didn't mean she didn't have a new trick up her sleeve.

After an assault with a weapon at work leaving me with head injuries and physical pain on every part of my body, I was advised by at least three of my doctors all saying, "Get a dog!" Knowing all the benefits of having a dog would be very beneficial to me, I did. Although, I knew how people say that they love their dog more than anyone, I had no idea how that could be until, time after time, Koko

mo saved my life, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I trained her well by myself, but soon started realizing how intelligent she really is. I learned so much from Kokomo and so did Quincy, my son's big dog. He would be bewildered wondering how she tricks him, but started picking up by following her around. Kokomo and I take our time, although it's always her choice, to stop and talk to people; help by making them laugh or understand that you don't have to be afraid of every dog, and teach them how to tell the difference. Her persistent has changed many adults and children to recognize the love of dogs. Although I've always liked animals, feeling the deep love of Kokomo, I truly became an animal lover and learned the true meaning of life. Please feel free to share your pets funny, inspiring and/or loving stories!

Every dog deserves a safe place to live and be loved.

Every night after the busy city became quiet, a small stray dog walked through the empty streets searching for a safe place to sleep.

He had no owner waiting for him. No soft bed. No food bowl. Only cold roads, dark corners, and the fear of bigger dogs chasing him away.

One rainy night, while trembling from hunger and cold, he discovered a statue sitting on a bench in the middle of the street. The statue showed Jesus with open arms and a gentle face.

The little dog slowly climbed onto the statue’s lap and curled into a ball.

For the first time in many days, he slept peacefully.

After that night, he returned again and again.

Every evening, people passing by noticed the same heartbreaking sight — the homeless dog sleeping safely in the arms of the statue as if he had finally found someone protecting him.

Some people left food nearby. Others placed a small blanket beside the bench. A few stopped to pet him before going home.

Nobody knew where the dog came from or what he had been through. But everyone understood one thing:

Even a stray animal needs love, comfort, and a place where it feels safe.

The dog may not have understood who the statue represented, but he understood the feeling he found there — warmth, peace, and kindness in a lonely world.

Sometimes, the smallest hearts teach us the biggest lessons.

Stray dogs do not ask for luxury. They only hope for a little food, a little care, and someone who will not turn them away.

Mom always said, "If she wins a lottery, she will have a large house to care for dogs that other people didn't want!" Here’s another woman doing just that. ❤️

She only went there to drop off a bag of dog food and noticed two dogs. Such an inspiring story.

My therapist told me to wait five minutes before making any big decision. I waited four.

I wasn’t even supposed to be there. I had gone to a shelter just to drop off a bag of dog food during my lunch break. Fifteen minutes, in and out. That was the plan.

Then I took a wrong turn.

Penny was a light-colored Labrador mix, around 4 years old. Her fur was soft and a little wavy, and her ears flopped gently. She was trying her best to get attention: wagging her tail, moving around, and looking at every person who walked by.

But every few seconds, she would stop and go back to the dog beside her.

Her brother, Kenny.

Kenny looked similar: same light coat, strong build, but he was quieter. He sat still, watching people with calm, slightly worried eyes. While Penny tried to win every heart, Kenny just stayed close to her, like she was his safety.

“The girl will get adopted fast,” a shelter worker said softly. “She’s friendly. But the boy… bigger dogs take time. We may have to separate them.”

I stood there, watching.

Penny stopped again. She walked back to Kenny, sat beside him, and gently rested her head on his shoulder.

She wasn’t leaving without him.

I called my husband. He answered right away.

“You’re at the shelter, aren’t you?” he said.

“We need more space at home,” I replied.

That afternoon, we brought them both home.

Penny wagged her tail the whole ride. Kenny sat quietly, his face near the window, feeling the wind. For the first time, he didn’t look worried.

They came together. And they stayed together.

How this dog saved his man's life.

How this dog saved his man's life.

“There’s… something under the bed.”

That was all the nurse could say before the night guard quietly walked into the room.

The hospital felt silent and still. Bright white lights shone overhead. The smell of medicine filled the air. Machines beeped softly in the background.

Under the bed, there was a dog.

The guard paused. He was tired after a long shift, his eyes heavy, the smell of coffee still on him.

The dog didn’t bark. He didn’t move.

He just looked at him.

On the bed above, an old man slept, breathing slowly and an IV was attached to his arm.

The dog stayed close to the bed, shaking slightly, as if protecting the man.

This wasn’t fear.

It was love.

Hospital rules were strict. No animals allowed. No exceptions.

But no one called for help.

Because this didn’t feel wrong.

It felt special.

No one knew how long the dog had been coming there every night. No one knew how he found his way inside. And no one knew why the old man never spoke about him.

The guard took a deep breath. This situation was not going to be simple.

By morning, everything changed.

When the old man woke up, he looked down and smiled softly.

“Hey, Ronaldo…” he whispered.

The dog, Ronaldo, lifted his head immediately. His tail moved gently, like he had been waiting all night to hear his name.

The nurses slowly understood the truth.

Ronaldo was his dog from years ago. Somehow, every night, he found his way back to him.

The doctor noticed something surprising. The man’s health was improving. He looked calmer and stronger.

Soon, the hospital made a decision.

They allowed Ronaldo to stay.

From that day, Ronaldo didn’t have to hide anymore. He stayed beside the man, bringing comfort, peace, and hope.

Because sometimes, the best medicine is not a drug.

Sometimes, it is love that never leaves.

And this time, no one would take Ronaldo away again.

The Healing Power of Companionship: How Dogs May Influence Survival in Cancer Patients

() A newly published study in Scientific Reports has identified a striking association between contact with dogs and improved survival outcomes in cancer patients--reporting up to a 64% reduction in 5-year mortality risk. At first glance, this may seem surprising.

How animals show love..

When their elderly owner passed away suddenly, the house became quiet overnight.

Relatives came for a few days. They spoke about money, signed papers, and took their share of the inheritance. Then one by one, they left. No one asked about the pet.

A small dog stayed behind.

Every day, he sat near the gate, waiting. Morning to night, he watched the road, hoping his owner would return. Days turned into weeks, but he didn’t give up.

He wasn’t completely alone.

A stray orange cat slowly became his friend. At first, she stayed at a distance. But she saw his loneliness. She came closer each day, until one day, she gently wrapped her paws around him, as if to say, “I’m here.”

From then on, they stayed together.

They shared food, warmth, and silent comfort. On the empty street, they had only each other.

Neighbors noticed them. Someone shared their story online.

Yesterday, on March 26, 2026, something changed.

A kind family came looking for them. They didn’t just see a dog or a cat, they saw a bond that couldn’t be broken.

“We’ll take them both,” they said.

For the first time in a long while, the dog stopped waiting at the gate. He walked forward, side by side with his only friend.

The cat stayed close, just like always.

They were given new names that day, Minnie for the cat, and Mickey for the dog.

A new home. A new life.

But most importantly, they stayed together.

Because sometimes, family isn’t who leaves you something behind…

It’s who stays when everyone else walks away.
