Our first catio project of summer 2025 is completed! There are a few details about this catio that we accommodated for our client. We added a ‘one way’ cat door that can only be activated with a special magnetic collar. Due to our client often travelling and having to get cat sitters, we added the kitty door just in case any of their cats happens to escape from the sliding glass window while the owner is away. This way, in the unforeseen situation one of the cats escapes while the owner is out of town, the cats can still make it back inside for safety! We also built the catio to be ‘freestanding’ and it does not attach the building - a typical requirement for strata councils. Instead, We were able to secure the catio by anchoring into the ground around it. The catio can also be disassembled easily, allowing for it to be transported in case the owner decides to move away.
