This is Penny, enjoying some downtime after our walk on a rainy Saturday morning

Penny has what we call “stranger danger,” meaning she can react with fear-based aggression toward people she doesn’t know or trust. I still get a few alarm barks when I first take her out of her crate, and I probably always will. And that’s okay!

Dogs like Penny are always communicating. She’s incredibly clear with her body language—you just have to know what to look for and respect what she’s saying. Taking the time to read those signals, move at her pace, and earn her trust has made all the difference.

Moments like this remind me why I love what I do. Trust isn’t rushed—it’s earned, one visit at a time!

Frankie has been with Petts Pet Care since the very beginning, making her one of my very first clients. She may be a little older now and have a lot more gray around her face, but she’s still just as silly, sassy, and full of personality as ever. These days we keep to shorter, slower walks. I always love spending time with this girl.
