We are extremely sorry to inform that our pet crematorium is not available for service at this time. We have unfortunately had a significant mechanical problem with our unit, and therefore cannot offer pet cremation services at this time. We are in the process to have this service up and running as soon as possible, but do to the circumstances of the problem, a new unit may be required. This unfortunately will take some time. Those that have recently left their beloved pets in our care for cremation services will be contacted in the next coming days with options of other services and/or reimbursement. We have also informed all the Veterinarian Clinics. We are very sorry for this inconvenience, and hope to have this service up and running as soon as possible. We would like to include possible resources for those that may require cremation services while we are down. 3 Hound Pet Cremation is located in Smithers BC. They offer cremation services for your beloved pets. They have a website and a contact number 250-876-0322. We are very sorry for this unforseen complication with this much needed service, and will be sure to update when we have more information.

We tried to capture the craziness of having 11 little kittens running around, playing, and just being adorable kittens! However, we think we found them in nap mode, which increases significantly with these babies with the warmer weather. These adorable kittens are ready for homes 🏡 The shelter has nursed these babies back to health, and have provided them with their first vaccination, and parasite control. Now they need you ❤️ Do reach out to meet these adorable kittens and learn more about our adoption process. We are open six days a week. Monday-Saturday. Please do come in to meet them. They are so ready to find loving homes 💕

Sneak peek of 13 adorable bundles of cuteness that will all be looking for loving homes really soon ❤️ They all arrived with us within the last several weeks. Some needed extra care and attention due to severe flea infestation,(anemia) malnutrition, and just being super young. Thanks to all of your amazing donations of kitten food and milk replacement, and a ton of TLC from our amazing staff, these kittens are all thriving, and have been treated for internal and external parasites. We will be providing them with their first vaccine next week, which will make them available to interact safely with the public. We do hope to find amazing homes for all of them ❤️ Do reach out to learn more about these adorable kittens, and any questions or inquiries about our adoption process 😊 Best way to reach us is to give the shelter a call. Just after the July long weekend, our shelter was hit hard with several litters of kittens. They all arrived very young, very emaciated and sick. Severe flea infestation and malnutrition were huge concerns. Their tiny bodies were struggling to survive with lack of nutrition, and flea anemia was also present in a few kittens 😔 One little girl's condition concerned us greatly. And although we were doing our best to help her, we knew she needed extra care. We reached out to our amazing allies, Northern Animal Rescue Alliance for help. They quickly found one of their volunteer fosterhomes for this girl, and she was rushed to them for help. They almost lost this girl several times, and she's still so fragile, weighing in at only 6 ounces 😔 But, she is in the best possible hands, and we are forever grateful ❤️ The amazing fosterhome has named her "Hope". Sometimes rescue takes multiple armies to give those most vulnerable a helping hand, and we are forever grateful for NARA ❤️ Do keep "Hope" in your thoughts. She's a fighter, and needs all your well wishes right now 💕 Included in the comments are a few short videos of miss "Hope" in her amazing fosterhome ❤️

Miss "April" arrived with us in April 2025 with her four little tabby kittens. Thankfully, we had amazing homes reach out for three of her kittens, but have had zero interest in her, or her last kitten. Three months waiting. We tend to not name the babies who come our way. We always pray that the little ones who come into our care find homes quickly, and we think the whole process of welcoming a new furry member to one's family is super exciting, especially choosing their forever name 😊 Do to miss April's kitten's stay with us being longer than we anticipated, we thought this boy deserved a name at least, besides being referred to as "April's baby". We have named this adorable boy "Artie". He is an extremely social boy, just like his mom, and does very well interacting with the public. Artie and April are pretty bonded after spending this long together, and we see April grooming, cuddling and playing with her boy often 💕 April is now spayed, fully vaccinated and dewormed. Artie has received two vaccinations and dewormer treatment. We are so disheartened that Artie is growing up in an animal shelter 😔 He and is momma really deserve to experience the love and comfort of a real home 🏡 Please do reach out to learn more about miss April and her adorable boy Artie 💕 They need your help. EDIT: ADOPTED ❤️ Mr. "Stanley" 🖤🤍 This absolutely adorable boy arrived with his five siblings June 11-2025. Unfortunately, Stanley arrived very sick 😔 He was diagnosed with puppy strangles from our vet and needed immediate help. Definitely Google to learn more about it if you are curious. We did as well, as we had never heard of this condition before. Stanley was put on some strong medications to help him recover. Unfortunately, this delayed his adoption, and prevented us from safely providing him with a vaccine. We are very excited to report that Stanley has concluded his medication, and has been given the all clear to get his first vaccine, and start the search for a loving home 🏡 He will be returning from his amazing fosterhome tomorrow, and we really hope to find him a home soon. All of his adorable siblings are adopted, so he will be so lonesome at the shelter by himself. His fosterhome says he does amazing with their dogs, is working super hard on potty training, leash training, and basic commands. He gets quite upset alone, so would thrive in a household with a buddy 😊 He is approximately 12 weeks old now, and is Australian Shepherd/ Border Collie cross. THANK YOU 😊 We received an overwhelming response to our recent post needing donations, and thanks to all of you, these babies are all set! THANK YOU to those who brought in food for both our wee baby kittens without mommas, and some for our adults cats in care. We also received a ton of kitten milk, and some monetary donations. We couldn't do this without this amazing support ❤️ Here are a few pictures of the newest arrivals you have helped ❤️ They are all still quite young, so not quite ready for homes 😊

EDIT: WE RECEIVED AN OVERWHELMING RESPONSE FOR DONATIONS, AND ARE SO THANKFUL AND HAPPY TO UPDATE THAT THESE BABIES ARE ALL SET ❤️ THANK YOU! Happiest Canada Day wishes to all our amazing followers ❤️🤍 We are reaching out for help with kitten food donations, as in the last three days we have received 12 new babies. Most are very young, and struggling a bit. We have a litter of four, born to a feral mom, and without intervention would have grown up feral and homeless. Outreach has been made to help momma. Two more arrived in with their momma after being left behind by a tenant who moved. She is extremely stressed, as are her two tiny babies. Six more kittens arrived today, after they were found in a box on Terrace Mountain Trail. They are also young, and were extremely hungry. We are in desperate need of kitten food/milk replacement. The food we currently have is mainly for adult cats, and will not give these kittens the proper diet they require being so young. We are guessing them to all be around 5 weeks of age, and ideally would still be receiving all they need from their mommas. We are hoping for some canned/dry kitten food. Any milk replacement formula for kittens is also welcomed 😊 Some of these kittens are really struggling with solid food, and would benefit greatly with milk replacement. Kitten season has hit hard this year. And not just with our shelter, but all shelters and rescues worldwide ❤️ We are grateful to be able to help these little ones as best we can, but we just need a bit of help. Donations can be accepted directly at our shelter Monday-Saturday. Thank-you to our amazing community and beyond for your amazing support ❤️ Do know that your support, helps us support those most vulnerable 💕

Miss "April" and her adorable look-a-like son are so very confused as to why they are still waiting for homes. This beautiful momma came to us with four little tabby boys just over three months ago. Amazing homes have come for three of April's babies, but nothing for her, or her remaining kitten 😔 Both April and her baby are very bonded, social, and love pets and cuddles. April has recently been spayed, fully vaccinated and dewormed. Her boy has received a dewormer and two of the kitten vaccinations due to his longer stay with us. He is not quite old enough to be neutered, but our adoption program offers a $200.00 reimbursement to go towards spay/neuter fees. We would so love to find these two amazing homes soon! April is so very done with shelter life, and her little kitten was coping well, until his sidekick brother, and kennel buddy was adopted, leaving him alone 😔 Please do reach out to learn more about our adoption process. We always tend to worry a little more about those who's stay with us starts to become a bit longer than we thought. We do hope we can share their "Happy Adoption Day" very soon 😊 Maybe together 💕

EDIT: ALL THREE ADOPTED ❤️❤️❤️ These three, absolutely adorable babies were brought to us at the beginning of June. They were found under the flooring area of a boat. We assume their momma was a stray, and decided that the boat would be a safe place to have her babies. Unfortunately, the finders of the kittens did not see a momma cat around the area when they discovered the babies. A very thorough check was made of the boat, including removing several floor pieces to insure no other kittens were hiding. Thank you finders ❤️ These babies came in pretty sick, quite young, and very unsure of human touch 😔 They received medication, a special diet, and tons of love and attention from our amazing staff 💕 We will be vaccinating and deworming these babies next week, as we believe they are now old enough to do so safety, and they will be looking for amazing homes 😊 Mr. tux boy stole the heart of our amazing staff member, and has found an incredible home with her and family 💕 His two gorgeous sister's would love to find the same 💕 Please do reach out to learn more about our amazing adoption program, and how you can provide these adorable kittens a loving home 🏡 Best way to reach us is to give the shelter a call. 250-615-4031.
