As a registered charitable organization, the Saskatoon SPCA relies on the generosity of individual and corporate donors to raise necessary funds to provide shelter, care, nutrition and love to an average of 4,000 abandoned, lost, homeless and neglected animals annually. In addition to raising awareness about responsible pet ownership and providing adoption programs, lost and found and volunteer pr

ograms, the Saskatoon SPCA is also responsible to promote and enact laws that protect animals from cruelty, neglect and abuse through Animal Protection Services, with an aim to create a more compassionate world where animals are valued and treated with respect.

🌲 Hanson Needs You—And He’s Not Alone 🐾
When wildfires swept through northern Saskatchewan, families had to evacuate with little notice. Many couldn’t find pet-friendly housing—so their animals came to us.

We’re still caring for dozens of displaced pets like Hanson while their families get back on their feet. They’re not up for adoption—their families will return—but in the meantime, we’re covering all their food, care, and medical costs.

💔 We receive no government funding, and this ongoing crisis has stretched our resources thin.

Today we’re celebrating all the one-of-a-kind, mixed-breed pups that bring so much love, laughter, and loyalty into our lives—like Kennedy! 🐶❤️

Kennedy is a 6-month-old mix who’s got the best of both worlds: playful and gentle, adventurous and affectionate. He gets along great with other dogs and kids, and he’s ready to find his forever home!

Silvia and Boogie (formerly Rotini) are living their best lives together! Adopted by Ellen just a few months apart, these two have become the best of friends.

Foxtails are a hidden danger for pets—especially dogs.

These grass-like seed heads are common in Saskatoon during the summer and can cause serious health problems if they get lodged in your pet’s skin, ears, eyes, nose, or between their toes.

Once embedded, foxtails don’t break down or come out on their own. They can lead to infections, abscesses, or worse.

🐾 Tips to help keep your pet safe:
• Avoid overgrown grassy areas when walking your dog
• Check your pet's paws, ears, and coat after walks
• See your vet if you notice limping, head shaking, excessive licking, or swelling

🐾 Meet Ally – Our Gentle Orange Tabby 🐾

Ally has been waiting over a month for someone to notice her—and we think it’s time the spotlight found her. This 2-year-old sweetheart is a rare female orange tabby, and while she might be a little shy at first, don’t let that fool you. Once she starts to trust, she becomes a total softie.

With a bit of patience, Ally will rub her face against your hand, flop over for belly pets, and even drool a little when she’s extra happy (yes, it’s adorable). She’s looking for a calm, loving home where she can take her time and show just how affectionate she really is.

Let’s not let her be overlooked any longer. Come meet Ally Wednesday to Sunday from 12–4:30pm at the Saskatoon SPCA, and see if she’s the gentle companion you’ve been waiting for.

This sweet little guy is full of personality—a perfect mix of playful, curious, and cuddly. He’ll follow you around like a shadow, snuggle into your arm for a nap, or dive under the blankets for a cozy snooze. And when he’s not cuddling? He’s off exploring, climbing, and hopping from spot to spot.

Chipmunk is great with young kids (he's lived with a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old!) and is ready to bring a whole lot of joy and fun to his forever family.

Cats and kittens from the Saskatoon SPCA are always available for adoption at PetSmart Meadows Market (3020 Meadows Pkwy Unit 120).

Plus, we’ll be on site Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm with adorable dogs and puppies ready to meet you and find loving homes! Stay tuned for a post later in the week to see which pets will be available.
