As a registered charitable organization, the Saskatoon SPCA relies on the generosity of individual and corporate donors to raise necessary funds to provide shelter, care, nutrition and love to an average of 4,000 abandoned, lost, homeless and neglected animals annually. In addition to raising awareness about responsible pet ownership and providing adoption programs, lost and found and volunteer pr

ograms, the Saskatoon SPCA is also responsible to promote and enact laws that protect animals from cruelty, neglect and abuse through Animal Protection Services, with an aim to create a more compassionate world where animals are valued and treated with respect.

🐾 Meet Willow! 🐾

Willow is a 3.5-year-old border collie mix who recently came back to the shelter through no fault of her own. She's sweet, smart, and ready to find her forever home.

Willow takes part in our Borrowed Buddies program, where volunteers take shelter dogs out for a day of fun and adventure. Her buddy had nothing but good things to say:

“An absolute gem & lovely girl”

Hops in and out of the car like a pro (and loves the ride!)

Plays a great game of fetch

Calmly observes other dogs on walks

Walks nicely on leash

Knows a few tricks!

Willow is fully house trained and ready to settle into a loving home. She’d do best in a home without cats, but otherwise, she’s an easygoing, playful girl with lots of love to give.

Whether you adopted, donated, volunteered, or simply shared a post, your support helps us continue this life-changing work. Every animal adopted is a fresh start, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing community.

Alumni Update: Coco 💛

Coco is living her best life in her new home! She’s settled in beautifully and has claimed her favourite chair for naps. Say the word “car ride” and she’s instantly at the door—she loves going anywhere, especially camping!

She’s just starting to figure out how fun toys can be, walks great on a leash, and has a big appetite (especially for snacks that aren’t hers 😂). But her absolute favourite thing? Snuggling. Her family says, “I’ve never been around a dog that snuggles this much!”

Every now and then, she gets a case of the zoomies and tears around the basement like a rocket. We’re so happy to see Coco happy—and so loved. 💛

🐾 Bringing Home a New Cat? Here’s What You Should Know! 🐾

The first few days in a new home can be overwhelming for a cat—whether they’re a playful kitten or a calm adult. Here are some tips to help make the transition smoother:

🛏️ Create a safe space. Set up a quiet room with a litter box, food, water, and a cozy bed so they can adjust at their own pace.
⏳ Take it slow. Give them time to come to you. Let them sniff and explore when they feel ready.
👋 Limit introductions. Hold off on meeting the whole family (including pets) right away. Slow and controlled intros are best.
🐱 Stick to a routine. Feeding and playtime at the same times each day can help build trust.
💗 Be patient. Some cats settle in within hours, others take days or weeks. Let them lead the way!

Every cat is different, but with a little patience and care, your new feline friend will be purring in your lap in no time. 🐈‍⬛💕

UPDATE: Tango has been adopted.

Tango is a beautiful 2-year-old mixed breed dog who’s having a tough time adjusting to life in the shelter. She’s a smaller medium-sized.

Tango is timid and very stressed in this environment, so she likely won’t be eager to be friends right away. But with time, patience, and a calm home, we know she’ll blossom.

To help reduce her stress, we’re limiting visits to serious adopters only. If you’re ready to give a quiet, loving home to a dog who just needs a little extra time to feel secure, Tango might be your perfect match.

As wildfires continue to affect communities in Northern Saskatchewan, the Saskatoon SPCA is here to help. We are providing emergency boarding for pets who can't stay with their families, as well as emergency pet supplies for evacuees who have their animals with them but need support.

💛 Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the fires.

🌸 A huge thank you to CIMA+ for donating their time and muscle to help us bring back something we’ve really missed—our gazebo! After an afternoon of hard work, it's finally standing proud at our new location. 💪☀️

We also want to give a special shoutout to the Buechler family, who originally donated the gazebo and recently added a beautiful touch with fresh flowers to make the space even more welcoming. 🌼

We’re in urgent need of two key items:

🍼 Kitten kibble – Growing kittens need age-appropriate food to build strong bodies and healthy immune systems. Adult food just doesn’t meet their needs.

🧺 Unscented laundry soap – With dozens of loads of laundry every day, we rely on scent-free, sensitive-skin detergent to keep things clean and safe for the animals.

🐾 Office life suits these two just fine!

Lynn (black - 1 year, 2 months) and Maxine (tortie -1.5 years) are currently thriving in our Office Foster program, spending their days at Cherry Insurance—and winning hearts in the process!

Lynn has become playful, adventurous, and quite the chatterbox. Maxine is still on the shy side, but she enjoys quiet company and will seek out a cozy spot near her human coworkers.

The two are good friends—they play, groom each other, and cuddle often (until they get too warm and need a break!).

They can be adopted together or separately, depending on what’s best for their future families.
