How does one groom a cat?

It’s all about the technique! We use gentle holding techniques and no scent natural products to make your cat feel more comfortable. Humans are happy with the result of cleansed, clean health clean skin and a soft plush coat. Both shot or long hair breeds benefit from our grooming services.

A cat grooming session usually takes about an hour. We will never force your cat to endure grooming or bathing services and on occasion have to break up your pet’s appointment. Regular grooming helps keep your cats coat clean, healthy and smelling great.

🪮 Brush, brush, brush!
Ideally, you’ll want to brush at home every day if you can, or at least every other day—especially right now while they’re shedding that winter undercoat. Regular brushing keeps mats from forming and really helps them stay cooler because air can flow through the coat properly.

🚿 Bathing:
We usually recommend a bath every 4–6 weeks in the summer. If they’re swimming or rolling around outside a lot, you might need to come in a bit sooner. And it’s always best to brush out the coat before bathing—that way we’re not trapping any mats.

🐾 De-shedding sessions:
At home, you can use an undercoat rake once a week to help pull out that loose hair. When you bring them in, we’ll also use our high-velocity dryer to really blow out the undercoat, which makes a big difference.

✂️ Trimming (but not shaving):
We don’t recommend shaving a triple-coated dog—it can actually mess up the way their coat insulates them and protects them from the sun. What we can do is tidy up the feathering, trim around the feet, hocks, and sanitary areas to keep them neat and comfortable.

🧼 Professional grooming:
Plan on coming in about every 6–8 weeks over the summer so we can do a deep de-shed, trim, and coat check. That really helps keep the coat healthy and manageable between visits.

Your dog will feel so much better with a lighter, mat-free coat, and you’ll notice way less hair around the house.
