As a family, this is our only major vacation since 2017. We are in Punta Cana, DR. There are so many uncared for cats and dogs. Just up the road there is a mom with 4 puppies, among many other dogs, living in an old unused golf course

Here at the resort, there are at least 10 or more cats. Some, obviously suffering from disease. It’s heartbreaking. We discussed trying to get vet care and bring some back with us, but it isn’t affordable. And how do you choose? So every meal I feed them chicken and cat treats, because that is all I am able to do

I wish these multi million dollar resorts would take care of them. They make enough money to put a bit towards the animals that greet their guests. Numerous guests brought cat treats. We brought 4 bags, I wish I’d brought 100

We are on vacation!!! First time in 8 years. Thank you to my parents who gifted us this vacation We hired a pet sitter who left the animals kenneled all day. This is how thirsty the dogs were. Non-stop drinking, even after she showed up and stayed 40 mins with them. Check up on your pet sitters.I want to give a big shout out to Nicole Muxlow for jumping in at the last minute to take care of our animals. If anyone needs a reliable and trustworthy pet sitter, this is your lady!!!

Anyone have free time to help 6 newborn piglets out??? We are looking for transport from Armstrong to PG. The sooner the better.

If we can get them here, we would also need help with around the clock care for a couple weeks

In December we picked up a male hedgie who was being rehomed. The poor fella’s nails had grown so long that they fully curled over into circles. He had f***s stuck in his claws. We brought him home and bathed him and cleaned him up. He was so cute 🥰 We named him Fluffy although he wasn’t fluffy at all 😂

Fluffy had big boy “parts” which made me realize that Grumpy, another hedgehog whom we took in 2 years prior, was in fact a female. We spent 2 years thinking Grumps was a boy. She was the opposite. Sadly, our gal passed away last night. She had aged gracefully and lived a well loved life. She had a stroke back in November, but remained happy, moving about, eating daily and was spoiled with the best high quality cat food a hedgehog could eat. Fluffy passed away a month ago due to a large tumor that developed on his face. We wish we’d had more time with both. This is the world of taking in pets that are being rehomed, often multiple times throughout their lives.

Today we had to be at the UNBC sustainability event for 10 am. Mowg’s was good about getting in the van quickly. He pooped as soon as I hit the highway. I pulled over and cleaned it up. A nice gentleman pulled over to make sure I was ok and make sure that I didn’t need help. I laughed and told him, “ I pulled over because my pig pooped in the van.” He laughed and said, “it happens.” Yeah.. it always happens to me 🤣🤣 After the fact, I always wonder what people think of the crazy lady with a pig in her minivan 🤷🏻‍♀️

We drove into town and Mowgli pooped again 🤦🏻‍♀️ I didn’t have time to clean it up, so there we are riding with the window’s down in snow-rain mix 😂

On the way home, Mowgli wanted to shift the van out of drive. I said no and he had a tantrum, pushing and screaming. Ugh…. Pigs! 🤣

We have 2 bathtub turtles. Still. Anyone talented enough to make us some critter caps for them? Something bright would be ideal since it’s almost “turtles wandering the yard” season

Last year we fostered numerous kitten’s from the 400 feline Houston situation. This is our Bear Bear. He was the only kitten to survive from the mixed litter we took in. He has enough personality for all those kittens combined. He can always be found passed out in the weirdest spot, like as if he just worked a 24 hour shift.

(Yes.. the Christmas decorations still haven’t been put away. I may just leave them back there and pull them forward next December 🤣🤣)
