Juno and Indigo had a visit today from Emily of Healing Touch - Equine & Canine Massage Therapy!

Just like us, dogs can get sore and tense. Massage can be very beneficial to their overall wellness, as well as a nice way to relax (they both had a great post massage nap 💙).

Junos first SDDA trial!!
She completed the Interior, Exterior, and Container Search, earning her Started title🏅

Sprinter is actually the very first step i took into dog sports! Its a fun way to let your dog run and chase in a safe and controlled environment, which is great fulfillment!

While my focus lands more on dogs than cats, my passion for working with animals is absolutely a family trait! One such family member is my great-uncle, Joe, who has been recognized for his more than a decade long dedication to helping the cats at our local shelter the Nova Scotia SPCA - Yarmouth Shelter.

If youve adopted a cat from the Yarmouth SPCA, chances are Joe has been a part of their journey in one way or another.

Some people like cats. Joe, on the other hand, absolutely loves them. 😻 It started with a stray mama and her babies, which he found at his work. When he earned their trust and brought them to the Yarmouth Shelter, he knew he had to do more. For almost two decades, he has been a regular volunteer at the shelter, earning a special nickname from staff. 😇

Companion Theory Dog Training is officially 1 year old! 🥳🎉

This post comes a day late because i simply couldnt put the words together yesterday.

Year 1 has been everything i hoped for in starting a business. Ive laughed, ive learned, and ive loved every minute ive gotten to work with people and their dogs. 🥹

Ive taken a bit of a "slow and steady" approach, because i believe building a strong foundation to grow from will lead you to greater success (just like the training we do with dogs). I set personal goals for my first year in business, and i achieved them. I continue to expand my knowledge, and learning will be forever ongoing, as that is part of my commitment as a professional dog trainer. Im also incredibly greatful for all the support ive had along the way, it means more to me than i could ever put into words. 💙

Looking towards the future, ive got some ideas and plans in the works. Im excited to share them when the time is right.

Whether youve been here since the start, or are just finding me now, hello and welcome, its great to see you, and i hope youll continue to stick around!

Trialing a dog in any sport requires lots of patience, practice, communication, and a great working bond with your dog. But when all that training comes together? You will make the most amazing memories, working side by side as a team 🥰

Its International Puppy Day, and who doesn't love looking at photos of puppies? 😍

I had to dig deep to find these photos of Indigo, and wow does he look so different as a puppy! That was nearly 13 years ago. Its easy to forget how little our dogs once were, and how much they grow and change over their entire lives with us. As much as we are always striving towards our next goals with our dogs, its good to take a moment and just enjoy the journey with them. 💙
