Think It Through: Calm Door Greetings
Caption:

🛎️ Does your dog go wild when someone knocks?
Teach a “place” cue near the door.
💡 Practice with mock guests and reward calm behavior.
🎓 How to Teach It:
Choose a Spot — Pick a mat or dog bed a few feet from the door.
Lure & Mark — Use a treat to lure your dog onto the mat. The moment all four paws are on it, say “yes!” or click, then reward.
Add the Cue — Once your dog consistently goes to the mat, say “place” right before they move to it.
Increase Duration — Slowly increase how long they stay, rewarding calm behavior.
Practice with Distractions — Add light knocks or a doorbell sound and reward when they stay on their spot.
