Your dog sees another dog.
They bark. They lunge. They lose their mind.
And your first instinct is to stop the reaction.
But what if the reaction is only part of the story?
Reactivity can stem from fear, frustration, overarousal, or a combination of factors. And the approach that helps one dog may not be right for another.
The goal isn’t simply to make your dog stop barking.
It’s to understand what they’re struggling with, adjust the situation so they can succeed, and teach them skills that help them cope.
More corrections doesn’t automatically mean better training. More exposure isn’t automatically progress. And less barking doesn’t automatically mean less stress.
You can’t just train the reaction. Train the dog in front of you.
