🤎 Same Parents. Same Litter. Different Coat Lengths. 🤍

These two adorable boys are brothers from the exact same litter—yet one is a British Longhair and one is a British Shorthair!

Many people are surprised to learn that coat length is determined by genetics. The longhair gene is recessive, meaning a kitten must inherit a copy from both parents to be longhaired.

✨ If both parents carry the longhair gene:

* A kitten can be Longhair (inherits two copies)
* A kitten can be Shorthair carrying longhair (inherits one copy)
* A kitten can be Shorthair not carrying longhair

This means that even in the same litter, you can have both British Shorthair and British Longhair kittens!

This sweet boy will spend the next few months growing, learning, and being spoiled here at LuxeBrits before he takes flight to his forever home in Texas this August. ✈️🐻

Ophelia’s pedigree combines respected European bloodlines from Belgium, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic, including ancestry from internationally recognized catteries such as Crystal Flame’s.

Generations of dedicated breeding have contributed to the beautiful qualities she displays today, her plush coat, large expressive copper eyes, cobby structure, and sweet British Shorthair temperament.

When selecting cats for our breeding program, we look beyond beauty alone. We seek strong pedigrees, proven bloodlines, and generations of thoughtful breeding that help preserve the British Shorthair standard.

✨ LuxeBrits Update ✨

As we look ahead to 2027, exciting changes are coming to LuxeBrits.

To continue providing the highest standards of health, temperament, and quality, we will be downsizing our breeding program and raising fewer litters each year. With fewer kittens available and increasing investments in health testing, veterinary care, and kitten development, pricing will increase across all kittens beginning in 2027.

We’re also proud to announce an improvement to our health guarantee. Beginning in 2027, LuxeBrits kittens will come with a 5-Year Genetic Health Guarantee and extended FIP coverage, providing even greater peace of mind for our families.

This change reflects our commitment to standing behind every kitten we produce and giving families confidence in their newest companion.

🍂 Limited Fall 2027 litters will be available before we pause breeding until Spring/Summer.

⏳ LuxeBrits does not have readily available kittens. Our kittens are typically reserved through our waitlist by families who have chosen us as their breeder and are willing to wait for the right kitten.
