Annex Cat Rescue is a Toronto-based, 100% volunteer registered charity founded in 1997. Our mission is to address the problem of homeless & street cats in Toronto by spaying/neutering, bringing adoptable cats into our foster/adoption program, managing colonies of feral cats (those who are not adoptable), and educating the public about responsible pet ownership and living with community cats. Cats live with foster families or in managed colonies.

Barney and Fred are bonded brothers looking for a loving forever home together.

Barney needs more playtime than Fred and loves running after lightweight toys, and chasing laser toys. He loves to greet people as they come home. Fred is the shyer of the pair, but he absolutely LOVES belly rubs. He will also follow you to the bathroom and rub against your legs.

Nikki is the sweetest little shadow, always stuck to your hip and happiest being your scarf, your hat or both at bedtime. He allows all handling and has the cutest scratchy, squeaky meows with his mouth wide open. He loves dried fish treats, Churu, basically anything meaty, and toys like wand toys, the scratcher ring with ball, and his beloved crunchy pickle. Nikki is openly affectionate with people and other cats and purrs like a well-oiled muscle car.

Tomie is the perfect little buddy ... curious, cuddly and always nearby to “help” or check out what’s happening. He allows all handling, has tiny scratchy squeaky meows that somehow sound like a tiny rooster, and is obsessed with wand toys, the scratcher ring with ball and his beanbag chili pepper. Confident with other cats and a true little gentleman, he purrs like an engine until he falls asleep. His plush coat and little “snow pants” when he runs make him look like a stuffed animal come to life.

Moomoo and Mocha are the sweetest little duo and are always found side by side. They’re playful, affectionate and deeply bonded ... sleeping, eating, grooming and playing together ... and must be adopted together.

Moomoo is a gentle affectionate boy who’s a bit shy at first but warms up quickly. Once comfortable, he’s all about pets, face rubs, lap naps and tiny meows for attention. He loves playtime and will happily curl up with you afterward, especially under cozy blankets.

Mocha is playful, cuddly and full of zoomies. He takes a little longer to warm up but can usually be won over with treats. He loves wrestling with Moomoo, interactive play and squeezing in for cuddles, whether you’re ready or not. Like his brother, he enjoys cozy hidey-holes and warm blanket “tents.”

Meet Tigger! Tigger is a sweet girl with the softest heart, ready to find her furever home. Once feral, she’s made truly amazing progress and loves showing just how far she’s come. She now happily soaks up pets, snuggles and even being picked up.

She can be shy at first but once Tigger trusts you, she becomes deeply affectionate and devoted. She enjoys playtime, has a nice balance of energy and calm, and loves relaxing by the window watching the world go by.

Tigger would do best in a quiet peaceful home with a patient and gentle adopter who understands that trust takes time but knows the reward is a loving, loyal companion. If you’re looking for a sweet soul who will return your kindness with endless affection, Tigger just might be your perfect match.

Snickers is a young, energetic kitten with a playful spirit and a heart full of curiosity. Wand toys are her favorite but she’s happy to chase, pounce and play with just about any toy.

She adjusted quickly to the other cats in her foster home and enjoys feline company. While she was a bit slower to warm up to people, once she did, her sweet personality emerged. She now enjoys short cuddle sessions before dashing off to play again with her furry friends.

Snickers is always on the move and would happily play all day if given the chance. She’s a delightful little bundle of joy who will keep her home entertained and full of life. Because of her playful nature, Snickers must be adopted into a home with a friendly playful resident cat who can match her energy.

Meet Baby - a curious orange tabby kitten with a soft heart.
Baby may be a little shy at first, but with patience, he blossoms into a cuddly and playful companion. Having grown up outdoors, Baby loves to explore and investigate new things (including plants!), and enjoys toys and playtime.

Litter trained and eager to learn, Baby must be adopted with a sibling (Tabby or Candy) or as a buddy to a friendly resident cat.

Meet Stormy — a quiet, graceful lady who prefers calm surroundings and carries herself with gentle dignity. She is rarely vocal but enjoys focused playtime, especially chasing toys and the laser dot.

Stormy is affectionate on her own terms and loves gentle pets and nearby companionship while you work. She does not enjoy being picked up and may startle easily, using clear boundaries to feel safe.

She is best suited to a peaceful, adult-only home where she can be the center of attention. If you’re looking for a serene, elegant companion with a playful streak, Stormy could be the one.

Meet the gentle Matcha, he was a rescued cat from the outdoors. He has adjusted and is well on his way to being a velcro lap cat. Matcha is a bit skittish with new people, but once he decides he trusts you, he's very determined about getting a person's attention.

Matcha is best in a house with more people. If there's someone at home for most of the time, he could get his attention needs met more consistently. He likes wand toys and will independently play with balls, crinkle balls (and socks). He will do well with a friendly buddy cat or even a solo cat. He is a flexible cat.

Candy is a sweet little black kitten with a tiny splash of white on her chest. She can be a bit shy at first but once she decides you’re her person, she shows it in the most heart-melting ways. Expect affectionate leg rubs and she’ll even pause mid-meal just to run over and say thank you. Just wait until you hear her cute meow.

Candy loves playing with cat toys and has a soft spot for cozy blankets. If you’re keeping one warm, don’t be surprised if she joins you for a cuddle. Once trust is built, she’ll even give sweet little hand licks.

Tabby has a gorgeous brown-and-white coat and the cutest little heart marking right on his nose. He’s on the shy side and prefers a calm quiet home where he can take things at his own pace. He loves playtime with his sister, Candy, and once he feels safe with his person, slow head and chin rubs are his favorite. If you sit calmly with him, he’ll quietly make his way over and even sit on your legs.

Tabby is still learning that humans can be kind and loving. Having lived outside, he learned to be cautious and quiet. Tabby must be adopted with one of his siblings (Candy or Baby) or as a companion to a friendly resident cat. For more info: annexcatrescue.ca/adopt/adoptable-cats
