Annex Cat Rescue Annex Cat Rescue is a 100% volunteer charity dedicated to addressing the plight of homeless cats. Please note: We do not have an office or a shelter.

Annex Cat Rescue is a Toronto-based, 100% volunteer registered charity founded in 1997. Our mission is to address the problem of homeless & street cats in Toronto by spaying/neutering, bringing adoptable cats into our foster/adoption program, managing colonies of feral cats (those who are not adoptable), and educating the public about responsible pet ownership and living with community cats. Cats live with foster families or in managed colonies.

UPDATE: MIA HAS FOUND HER FUREVER HOME 🧡

Mia is an 8-year-old diabetic cat who needs a new home or foster placement as soon as possible.

“Mia’s current caretaker is no longer able to consistently provide the routine and insulin administration she requires due to availability constraints. As a result, euthanasia is unfortunately being considered if a suitable placement cannot be found.

Mia is 8 years old and is incredibly affectionate, friendly and easy to handle. She is vocal, loves being brushed and has never scratched or bitten anyone. She would make a wonderful companion for someone experienced with diabetic cats or willing to learn her care routine.

A foster or permanent home anywhere in Southwestern Ontario, including Toronto, Hamilton, Burlington and Simcoe is being sought.”

Meet Lyra, a sweet girl who enjoys companionship on her own terms. She likes treats, gentle affection, and spending time close to her people once she feels comfortable.

Lyra often sleeps beside her foster mom and enjoys being part of the household, though she prefers an independent relationship to a cuddly one.

She would thrive as the only pet in a calm home with a patient adopter who can give her the time and space to build trust.

Can you spare a couple of hours this Sunday (tomorrow) at 2:30pm to help us search for Tommy in Unionville? We'd love to have as many volunteers as possible join us for door-to-door flyering and street-pole postering.

Tommy is a sweet, fluffy, toothless black cat and a former Annex Cat Rescue cat. After his escape last year, his adopter did not report him missing to ACR.

Over the past year, ACR has conducted extensive online outreach, hoping to connect with someone who may have seen, helped or been feeding Tommy. Unfortunately no leads have surfaced. Our final effort is to reach the many people who are not active in lost pet groups online but may have information that could help bring Tommy home.

The area we can cover depends on the number of volunteers who join us. With more helping hands, we can expand our search radius and ensure we've done everything possible to find Tommy.

Fluffy is proof that the best things take time 🐱💛

This beautiful young girl may be shy at first, but with patience and kindness, her sweet personality starts to shine.

Fluffy is playful, curious, and surprisingly clever. She once figured out how to unlatch her cage door all by herself! She loves chasing her red ball, enjoying Churu treats, and is even starting to learn that laps can be pretty great.

Once she feels safe, Fluffy becomes affectionate, cuddly, and loves spending time with her favorite people. She would love a calm home with a gentle feline friend to keep her company.

Egg & Rice are looking for their forever home together!

Rice is a young, short haired tabby, very curious and playful! He loves playing with his toys, and definitely the more outgoing one of the two!

Egg is a young long haired tabby, and the more chill one of the duo. He is shy but also has an affectionate side.

With a little bit of love and patience, these boys will adjust to their forever home perfectly. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. So far they are pretty quiet and don’t vocalize too much, perfect for anyone who prefers a quiet home.
