🚨 We still need help getting these blankets where they are needed most. 🚨

Right now, 150 handmade blankets are ready to go to rescues across Ontario, but we have not reached enough organizations yet.

Please help us change that.

If you know an animal rescue, foster network, shelter, or community organization that could use handmade blankets for small to medium animals, tag them, message them, or share this post directly with them.

Even one share can put this in front of the right person.

These blankets were handmade with care by people who wanted to help animals feel safe, warm, and comforted during difficult moments. We are trying to place them thoughtfully with organizations that will truly use them.

📍 Pickup available in Toronto (King & Bathurst)
🚗 Delivery support may be available through Critter Cab Live Animal Transport

Organizations can request blankets here:

Please keep sharing. The last round only reached rescues because people helped spread the word.

Together, we can keep comfort moving where it is needed most. ❤️

Hello Everyone, we are still looking for a home for these blankets. If you can help us spread the word, we would greatly appreciate it.

It takes a village!

We had a special delivery from The Blanket Project last week, and as you can see, Wilbur is loving it!
We are so grateful to everyone who made this possible.
First of all, thank you to Melisa, founder of The Blanket Project, who created this organization to collect beautiful and warm blankets, specifically for animal rescue organizations❤️❤️. We know that there are many sleeping, nice and cozy in the blankets you have collected for them!
Thank you to our friend Kim, who told us about this wonderful project, and picked them up for us!❤️.
Thank you to Steve and Matt for holding the blankets at your place!❤️
And finally, thank you to Kerry for picking them up in Campbellville, for the final leg to Dara. ❤️
It truly takes a village ❤️
We are grateful to each of you!
Much love, from all of us

UPDATE: We are now fully out of comforters.

What started as a single donation of 500 comforters turned into something much bigger than I expected.

These comforters have now been distributed across animal rescues, shelters, outreach programs, churches, and community organizations throughout Ontario. They are already in use, supporting unhoused people, individuals in transitional housing, and animals in care across multiple regions.

I want to take a moment to say a sincere thank you.

To Georgian College Residence for trusting this project with such a generous donation, and to Hailey Bosch for helping make it happen.

To our transportation partners, Jan Hannah from the Northern Dogs Project and Tony Zettler from ATS Traffic, who stepped in without hesitation and made sure logistics did not become a barrier.

And to everyone who shared, tagged, connected, and helped this reach the right people. This only worked because of you.

This project has always been about more than blankets. It is about dignity, care, and ensuring resources go where they are actually needed.

In just a few weeks, we were able to support dozens of organizations across Ontario, including:
• Animal rescues caring for dogs, cats, pigs, and wildlife
• Homeless outreach teams supporting thousands across the GTA and beyond
• Shelters, warming centres, and transitional housing programs
• Community and faith-based organizations distributing directly to those in need

Every single comforter found a place where it will be used.

Thank you for showing up the way you did.

🚗🐾 ATTENTION: People who like animals more than people… this one’s for you 🐾🚗

You know that feeling when you’re driving alone… and think,
“Wow, this would be way better with a furry co-pilot judging my life choices…”
WELL. HERE IS YOUR MOMENT.
Our friends at Critter Cabs Animal Rescue Transport are heading into their busy season (aka… chaos, coffee, and saving lives), and they need volunteer drivers across Ontario.

📍 Hot zone right now: Montreal to Belleville
(but honestly… if you have a steering wheel and a heartbeat, they want you 😆)

What you get as a driver:
🐶🐱 Sometimes dogs… sometimes cats… sometimes a mystery box with eyes 👀
🐾 Zero backseat driving (unless it’s a husky… then good luck)
💨 The occasional silent but deadly… keep those windows working
❤️ That “I just helped save a life” feeling that hits harder than your morning coffee

Here’s the part people don’t always realize…
Every single transport opens up space for another animal to be saved.
No driver = no movement
No movement = no intake
No intake = animals left waiting
So basically… you driving = more lives saved
(and not just dogs… we’re talking cats, critters, and the occasional surprise passenger 😏)

👉 Join the driver crew here:
https://www.facebook.com/share/g/18RnNhRcVs/

At Miss Dixie's Foundation we see it every day…
No transport = no rescue.
It’s that simple.
So if you’ve got:
✔️ A vehicle
✔️ A license
✔️ A heart (required… sorry, robots 🤖)
Then congratulations… you’ve just been volunteered 😌
Let’s get these animals where they need to go…
with less stress, more snacks… and maybe a window cracked open just in case 💨😂

Hello All,

We have another batch ready, and this one feels special.

These are 150 handmade blankets.
Every piece was made by someone who gave their time, their care, and their intention. These are not just items. They were created with the hope that they would bring comfort where it is needed.

Now they are ready to move.

These blankets are best suited for animal rescues working with small to medium animals. Because they are handmade, they are not suitable for animals prone to heavy chewing or clawing. Quilts for wildlife rescues are coming next.

We are working with Critter Cabs Animal Rescue Transport to help support delivery where possible, and pickup is available in Toronto at King and Bathurst.

We want to place these thoughtfully. Not quickly. Not randomly.
In the right hands, where they will actually be used.

If your organization can use them, please fill out the form:
https://forms.gle/2AAoU7pNBLNw4ycr7

----------------------------------------------------

If you cannot take blankets right now, sharing this post still helps.
The last round reached the right people because it was shared. That is how this works.

If you believe in what we are doing, follow The Blanket Project and help us grow this network.

Ask others to follow as well. The more people we reach, the more we can move where it is needed most.

This is ongoing. More donations are coming. More coordination is needed.

Every share, every connection, every small action moves something forward.

Thank you for being part of it.

In the name of this absolute drama queen 👑🐶

(and me, temporarily buried under donated blankets. Very Dickensian, but with better heating):

I’m back at it with Soup for Paws 🥣🐾
I run The Blanket Project (https://www.theblanketproject.ca/), which collects and delivers blankets, supplies, and support directly to dog shelters.

This year, I’m also turning my kitchen into a soup factory so we can help even more pups stay warm, fed, and cared for.

Because honestly… look at that face. Sasha, my pup that is...

That’s the face of a dog who would like you to buy soup.

What’s on the menu (1L homemade jars):
🌶️ Meat chilli — $22
🍗 Chicken Noodle Soup — $18
🥥🌶️ Thai Curry Butternut Squash — $20
🥦 Broccoli Soup — $18
🍄 mushroom Soup - $18
Pickup: 701 King Street West, Unit 1114

Order deadline: January 5
Easy pickup windows (no one-on-one chaos, I promise)

👉 Order here: https://forms.gle/vBr2QiQmCBhU9oWV7

Want to help beyond soup?

YES PLEASE.

Extra donations, blankets, towels, and pet supplies are always welcome.

You can also check out what I do year-round at theblanketproject.ca

Buy soup. Donate blankets.

Appease the drama queen.

Help shelter dogs this winter. 🐾❤️

Thanks to Spin Me A Yarn for all their lovely donation!

We will be doing our runs this Christmas to drop it off at shelters in need.

We love you so much, and your kindness will make a truly heartfelt impact...

Stop cutting onions!!! But please spread the word if you can.

With much love ❤
